Replicator drops - How useful are they?

I've noticed that in my last week playing season 6, the replicators drop from the sky every so often in a similar way to the care packages.

I love the new replicators and I think they are a great addition to the game, however I have struggled to see the use in the replicators that drop later in the game. While being able to craft items can be very useful, a lot of these replicators drop in very hotly contested areas and often in sets of two in the same location. They also don't drop with any crafting materials around them so getting what you need can sometimes be rather difficult.

Would it be perhaps an idea to make it so that these replicators have a few extra goodies inside to give you more incentive to save up your crafting materials and search them out? One of the obvious potential items to put in one of the golden weapons, because so far this season they have been extremely rare.
