There is no reason whatsoever to respawn a teammate at all or ever. It takes forever,you have no loot, you're a free kill, and it tells everyone where your squad is.
Buffed circle and nerfed rng makes the respawn mechanic pointless. Respawn get no loot then die, repeat. It's honestly pointless, it punishes you for using it. Why even have it in the game at this point?
Really? It does depend on the timing of the respawn, but I have had only a handful of situations where respawning was a bad idea. I've literally ran across the map just to respawn both my tmates and came out on top. Maybe whomever is respawning needs to use a bit of common sense before the commit to it.

Well yeah sure if your team just respawns you in the middle of a hot spot knowing there are teams nearby or about to be, then I can see where it's a bad idea. Wouldn't say bad mechanic though just lack of common sense on the players part. You don't always have to rush the CLOSEST respawn, paying attention to ring location and where it will end up (which there is a way to tell youtube can teach you =p) will usually allow you to respawn without much issue. Then it comes down to if your team sets up an escape for you as well like jump pad/portal/zip etc. If they just expect you to run for loot then yeah you might be boned. Again it's not the mechanic though it's just the player(s). Loot is the only issue but I usually drop them some heals and a gun until they find something I know a lot of people might not but I think you know what I'm going to say after that =p

It's supposed to be inherently dangerous, I mean you're getting someone back into the fight. I respawn and have been respawned successfully plenty of times. It is literally one of the most innovative additions that the battle royale genre has seen in years. Far far from useless/
