Revenant Trivia
According to Tom Casiello, Revenant's ancestors were probably Western European or North American.
Revenant's earliest upload was in 2420.
Revenant only became aware of his true nature 25 years ago, when his programming failed.
Communications between Jacob Young (Syndicate) and Cheryl Amacci (Hammond Robotics), revealed the following: [a] Revenant was created by the 'original' Hammond Robotics. [b] Revenant is not the only simulacrum in the Outlands and Young considers him an 'Immortal Murder Robot'. [c] Young confessed to have tried to alter Revenant's programming, but failed due to Revenant's 'security systems'. [d] Revenant was placed in the Games as a measure to 'control' him and keep the Syndicate's and Hammond Robotic's secrets safe.
Regarding his abilities, Tom Casiello has commented that Revenant had handlers and engineers who built and rebuilt him over the years. Each were influenced by different genres, different cultures. This is why sometimes, his movements have a Pacific Asian influence, other times Middle Eastern and other times, Dungeons and Dragons.
According to Tom Casiello and Moy Parra, there is only one Revenant, one consciousness at a time. Revenant can upload himself into any of his body copies.
There were at least 7,578 simulacrum trials before Revenant and it took 20 years for him to be fully operational and controllable.
In 2440, Hammond Robotics released Revenant from the lab and returned him to the Syndicate for their use.
According to Tom Casiello, not only can Revenant feel pain, but every time he has 'died' he feels all the terror, regret and fear that comes with knowing you're dying (not knowing you'll come back), and now he remembers every one of those deaths and the feelings he experienced at once. This can be seen in his Loading Screen, “Sleep with the Fishes”.
A voiceline in Shadow Royale where Revenant replies to Shadow Revenant saying "I once had a father who talked to me like that. Once...", confirms that he remembers his human life and that his father was abusive to him. It also implies that he might have killed or got rid of him.
