SBMM and how to end it
***before you mention player retention, our bullets haven’t been registering for an entire week, what does that do for player retention? Cod pubs never had sbmm, everyone loved those games***** So...
@Aegis_KleaisI respectfully disagree. I think players should always have the option to select what experience they want. If a player does not want to play opponents who are disproportionately more skilled than them, then they should have the choice to play a SBMM exclusive mode.
Other players who prefer variety (sometimes you play people worse than you, sometimes you play people better than you) should be given that option. For this group of people, ONLY playing opponents specifically selected to be as challenging as possible is grueling and tiring.
If people were really that concerned with not playing players substantially better than them, they would exclusively play the SBMM. This scenario is better than forcing all players to sweat every single game.
The bottom line is that EA and other companies want the lower skilled players to be winning as much as possible because that results in them playing more and spending money. But to accomplish this the burden has to be shifted to the average and high skill players, who are now losing more matches than they typically would have if lobbies forced players to play everyone.
Again, average and high skilled players are the ones suffering under SBMM. Some players might like the extra competitive matches but to have that be the only option is disenchanting for MANY people (which is why you see so many SBMM threads).
