Played 23 games today. Lost all of them. 18 of those 23 games consisted of the opposing 6 players being Predators.
Clearly I am bad at the game. So when am I going to get put into easier lobbies?
I don't get it.
- 5 years ago@DarthValtrex My KD is .9
Yet I am 27th in the world for headshots (pathfinder) and 80th in the world for damage. I play in Masters/Pred lobbies but those are literally the only players I play against.
I also frequently 1v1 players to test my mechanical abilities against my friends; I do well and lose infrequently.
So I am somehow one of the best players in the world (statistically, regarding mechanical skill) yet can’t seem to beat the very best teams in the world, so the result is poor win/loss and kill/death ratios.
People look at me like I have three heads when I tell them that I go on 300 game losing streaks because I am only playing the top players and streamers in the world.
It’s all just so super silly.- DarthValtrex5 years agoHero (Retired)
@Axs5626Sxa5001We are in a similar boat when I'm not playing like garbage. My KD hovers between .8 and .9's. How ever I bounce from the top tier lobbies to mid to the low. I don't understand why I have such a hard time being consistent and it ultimately leads me to blame the game. haha I can have some wild swings in my KD. I might get on tonight and start dropping 6-9 kills a round consistently that'll push my KD up .5 points or so. Then I'll have a few days straight in which I struggle do anything.
The one difference is that I don't lead for head shots or anything as any legend (as far as I'm aware). The best I've done was I made up into the top 1500 or so as Bangalore in Season 3. That was done almost entirely solo queuing as well, I'm sure with a pre-made I might have done better.
The funny thing is, I do have success in the top tier lobbies when I'm in them. I have randomly been paired with preds and I would not say I carried them the entire round but I definitely carried them through parts of the round. Then I get slaughtered in those lobbies as well. The margin for error in those lobbies is 0. Any slight mistake in your gameplay and you will pay dearly for it.
perhaps it's just the nature of the game?! The one thing that might have changed recently. I have been playing extremely aggressive and pushing everything I see/hear, no matter my squads position. If I can engage someone I will.
I wonder if your knock numbers are like mine? My total knocks is waaay higher then my kills. i'll knock 2 from a squad then get killed and proceed to watch my teammates get picked off one by one or let them revive the enemy.- 5 years ago@DarthValtrex
I don’t think it’s the “nature of the game”, but it IS the nature of aggressive SBMM. A powerful thing we can do is to look outside of Apex.
As mentioned before, SBMM is causing drama in CoD Cold War, as the very best players in the world are consistently only playing each other— the result is that their stats read similar to or LESS THAN players at lower skill.
Youtube “sbmm cold war”.
Look: on the surface, SBMM is a noble attempt to make video games accessible for people who don’t have 10 hours a day to practice. Unfortunately though, it’s clearly much more about maximizing profit margins. The current SBMM algorithms care less about allowing the best teams to win more consistently and care MORE about reducing the sum total of loses experienced by casual players (at all costs)— because players who lose less are more inclined to spend money.
This is going to sound mean but, in a PvP environment, the more skilled players should be performing better and enjoying themselves. Unfortunately this is no longer the case in 2020.
- E9ine_AC5 years agoHero+@DarthValtrex Loads made pred just by dipping out ranked games. Heck I even struggle at times and you see how I play. Which is why they added master system to ranked to better weed out the ones who didn't belong. Heck me possibly being one them I never left games and such but I did have good team at times when I didn't solo queue.
But the start of all seasons are always like this. Everyone gets those games where they slam out 3-12 or so kills a game which boosts their k/d a bit then the season starts to kick in and the elites are released.
Why I always tell friends the start of every season is the killer of k/d. All I can ask is where de fook where all these elites during season 1-4?? It is like they dropped out the sky as if they been playing this game for decades when comes to aim and possibilities.
