Screen size and in game sensitivity

I just realized today that sensitivity settings do not transfer correctly over different screen sizes.

Bigger screen = bigger movement input with the same sensitivity setting compared to a smaller screen.

I never knew this was even a thing. I always thought sensitivity would stay the same and compensate accordingly, but it clearly doesn't.

It's no wonder I had so much trouble when I first started playing, I was playing on a much bigger screen and couldn't dial in my sensitivity to exactly match what I was usually used to. It always felt awkward.

It was driving me nuts, and none of you seemed to have the same issue.

At least now I know 🙂

Settings adjusted so that I have the same feel although the actual numbers are totally different, game feels so much better now, great even.

  • @Sand_spitter I just moved to a bigger screen size myself so I might need to fine tune my sensitivity. Or at least double check them because I use per optic settings. I was doing ok when I played last night but it probably wasn’t exactly where I should have been.
  • @Sand_spitter This is why I hate playing FPS games on big screens. Some people love it and do well, and props to them! One of these days, I'll get a separate monitor just for FPS games. One of these days...

@MyName1sNotJohn Yeah, I think it depends on the size difference though. 27" to 55" is a huge difference so for me personally I had to make quite a big change for my pc settings to feel the same as on a tv.

@dSKyNafinchin You're right, I now understand why a lot of people prefer just to use a gaming monitor instead of a tv. It makes sense to me to just stick to one size for fps and just use what you're used to.
