From what I've heard back, this is fine, as long as it doesn't go above the standard achievable fire rate from clicking.
Community AdminScrolling one way seems to be fine, but from some testing, rapidly alternating between them seems like it might break the natural round cycling speed. Not by much, but anything that bypasses this is a glitch/exploit.
I'll run this by some folks, but for now I'd say it's best for you to hold off from using alternating mwheel directions to fire.
We'll send this up the chain and hopefully get a more solid answer.
Out of curiosity, I tried with alternate tap on 2 keys assigned to fire. Hemlok doesn't shoot at a faster rate than what I normally get with a single mouse button. It did go up to LMG rate a year ago, but that got fixed in the meantime.
From all my testing of guns that can do single fire, they don't go past full auto, this is mainly for use with the 301 and flatline guns. They produce a very odd sound when fired at such a fast rate. I'm taking advantage of the fact that it is odd and off putting to win mind games in fights. I already have natural skill when it comes to using these guns, so when I beam a person with the 301 and flatline respectively, first response is normally "what the heck just happened?" People currently I guess believe that this is only achievable with a macro. But as TOS states no use of 3rd party programs. So I turned to reproducing what I wanted in game in a much more legitimate manor, but I am very gray moral, and I'm not really sure if making a weird sound with the gun, (While most likely not intended as a feature) falls under cheating. Witch is why turn to have it clarified once and for all.

@BaldWraithSimpOk ,so until now no one said that using anything like (macros or scripts ) is prohibited as long it does not (go above the standard) of anything .
So I will take it as that it's allowed to use devices that can use such scripts to give me the ability to use single fire weapons with one trigger pull ,
It's the same as using a macro on a mouse that have a free spin scroll wheel so it keep shooting this single fire weapon (rapidly).
Now I know why they are not doing anything to all the preds who is using such devices and scripts (becuase it's allowed )

@BaldWraithSimpFar as I know, only can be achieved by glitching the gun. Most cases done by animation canceling. (All patched) And people who abused that are banned. But firing the gun as fast as possible? Not going to break the gun. Also, The CPS that you need for both 301, flatline, hemlock, all of them are humanly possible to fire that fast. There are people that can do it, but I would prefer not to mess up my hands by clicking like that. Especially over sustained periods it takes a lot out of a person.
