@E9ine_AChow do you know if the player in that video has a high ping instead of an unstable connection? The performance display says 34-60ms there and that's not yours, as you get the data feed of that player when spectating.
Check this one out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ftC1Rpi8mtg&t=524s&ab_channel=Battle%28non%29sense
Of course you become kill leader and this chick was also the champion squad if you cant even be hit unless standing completely still. This was done on purpose. This isnt the first player ive ran across doing this nor the only one ive heard from people why they do it for these very reasons. I am not sure how they do it but people ive spoke with say they done it on purpose. Can easily tell when their coms are perfect with no cutting out yet they lag like crazy in game.
- 5 years ago@E9ine_AC From my experience so far, stuttering happens when the data rate is inconsistent, packets arrive in bulks. This can happen when there's high lag and packet loss or timeouts occur, but the main cause is a choked connection, for which there can be many reasons (network congestion, route switches, bandwidth limiters, faulty hardware, wifi, etc.).It's really hard to predict these or determine whether it's intentional or not.

@apostolateofDOOM investment is what's needed, pure and simple. Why isn't it done? There isn't a problem in the game that cannot be solved by investment.
I find it surprising that with such a supposedly hugely popular and profitable game, that money is not poured back into it. Running head over foot to sort out any problems that arise as they arise. Surely that is an solid investment, generating short term returns, from a business point of view for a seemingly profitable game with a happy player base? Both by attracting new players and retaining its current player base.
Supposedly in business there is no such thing as bad publicity, its all good free publicity... I don't think that's the case anymore the way social media etc works, and Apex gets a grilling everywhere from what I have seen. This must have a seriously negative impact on attracting new players.
Take the launch on switch as an example. Youngtree plays pc but has a switch and was delighted to be able to play with his switch friends. His opinion is that the game presented on switch is very poor graphically, unplayable actually. After trying it on his switch, he went back to pc. This is yet another lost opportunity. Cynically one could say a cash grab at much younger players.
Does launching a game update with serious sound problems attract or retain players. QA had to be aware of it. Its a cynical business move just to proceed with the event for what income can be garnered, carry on regardless.
Fortnite have just turned their game into a varient of minecraft. They are targeting younger players for whatever reason. This is a serious opportunity for Apex to attract older players, will it be taken advantage of, by improving the quality of the current game?
It appears to me that the lack of investment probably indicates an alarming decrease in player base, and from a business point of view is sadly no longer worthy of investment, thus the focus on events and take what you can while you can. Shot in the foot comes to mind.
The solution is money, there's loads of it aparrently or is there? Where's it going/gone?

I agree that there are technical difficulties that really need some solving. For me, I'm never having lagg from my own PC. I never crash out of a match. The only thing I really have problems with are the servers and the audio issues.
There are periods in Apex's lifetime where suddenly the servers get worse, up to a point where every 3 matches, there is 1 that is in slow-mo. There is also no compensation whatsoever if you happen to get it in ranked.
Luckily right now it seems to be less common.
But it shows that the servers need some kind of improvement.
In regards to the audio, most of the time I can hear everything fine. But there are moments that an enemy squad is just not hearable until they are standing 1 meter from you.
There is some good news though. It appears that they are actively working on fixing these two issues. I'm not holding my hopes too high, we have had such news (and updates claiming to fix things) already. But yea it's great to hear that they are working on it.
Ryan K. RigneyAwesome review, everybody at @Respawn is really honored. Hopefully some good news on footsteps + servers to come in the nearish future.
