@Cheese9Man Thank you. I don't either really but instead of just highlighting performance issues, i thought it might be better to bring up various topics that could be related as it'll promote conversation from those that know more on servers/networking/game dev or other associated fields which can add to the thread over time. Users could learn a thing or two from this too.
The thread was created for discussion and to reduce the spamming ''your servers are trash'' threads every other day from some that have done the troubleshooting and been playing quite awhile as they all go nowhere and it also reinforces it's a structural/backend issue when players have gone though that process. We all see them either in our own gameplay or on streams and I doubt this thread does or ever will have all the answers but lays out our issues in a reasonably constructive way for them to address with at least some suggestions in comparison to others.
Respawn communicating on why things are the way they are, their limitations and what would need to be done to make those changes would be beneficial imo.
@apostolateofDOOM I was playing ranked today and instead of my usual closest server London, Belgium had the lowest ping and no packet loss. Towards the end of the session it was getting a bit laggy esp noticeable in the lobby. So I closed the game and tried to restart it but kept getting errors, code leaf. So I shut the game down again and tried Fortnite which was fine. 😃
@apostolateofDOOM playing ranked with yt just now in our first game. He is on his phone hotspot and I'm on the usual mobile broadband. Enter the match and get as far as the jumpship, then got thrown out tried to reconnect but no. Last game summary shows as the previous match I played, not the one I was ejected from. Then message comes up that member of my party ie yt disconnected, so I get a 10 minute penalty! A first for me. Why would I get kicked out of the match if yt got dc?
Yt comes running down corridor saying that he got dc and then 2 code errors, code leaf and code net. And he also has a 10 minute penalty.
