But swapping a shield out of a death box is no different than grabbing a gun out of a death box or ammo. Why would it be cheating to shield swap but not take anything else?
By your logic, nobody should be able to take anything out of any death box found lying around the map.
Exactly you can die to more the armor swaps, also getting ammo (I do this loads because I happen to be out in fights in the start so I have to "ammoswap") during fights. And just a general observation, the guy you fought with had a bunch of headshots on you, that indicates a very proficient player and you can expect armor swaps from these any day.
@Zkepz i heard the armor break twice with one mag, not even a pause in shooting, two breaks, hes still standing, to argue something is disingenuous at this point... he was half dead with the havoc and just an unextended mag from a 301 can down with 3 shots to spare... i hit this guy so cleanly it rivals some of my best kills, but because he memorized pushing buttons he gets to wear two sets of armor at one time... if he had rounded a corner to swap i might understand, but when im lazering him and he cracks twice in a second and is still standing you are just dishonest to say thats fair...
Ok try look at it from his side, he was fighting you. Saw the chance of an armor swap, it's a risky move if you're face to face and under focus you will most likely loose if you do. He gets to choose if he goes full dos and see who comes out on top or swap armor and chance it that you go into reload before he dies so he can finish you off.
It's obvious he chose the later and it payed off, that choise could have backfired real bad, so well played on him. I will say I would be just as pissed as you but I don't think it's cheating none the less. Then it would be cheating to pick up more ammo if you're out while the other guy still have ammo same thing.
Ref edit, i have no idea if your nemesis tapstrafe or not, but there are pros and not pros (ehh the correct word is. No on the forum for some reason) with all input systems. For instance check leaderboards for arenas, console players infest the top rankings, there has been a lot of discussions on this and it revisits every season ☺️ i think it's a very interesting discussion too because people who haven't taken time to learn both always complain about the other.
- @Zkepz what is the shortest patch? a cell is 3 seconds... the average time to kill is 2 seconds... this isnt an obvious slap in the face your hair is on fire problem? you people complain about combining totem and jump pad, and have the thing nerfed, because people are using a strategy you dont like... but then you think patching red without the minimum 5 seconds is fine? complaining about real strategy, getting actual creativity removed from a competitive environment... and three pages later you still havent acknowledged the latter half of my first post, i want an apology for the horizon nerf, for every other act to balance the game. oh no, octanes stem is too powerful, * up his regen because children complain, but when an open exploit ignores something as foundational, so all important as time to patch, you just shrug like the very most important element of balancing that will ever exist, right next to time to kill... time to patch isnt important... how about i get an apology for every time i died when that battery was less then a second from full, that little detail that could have won the whole game, you wont give me a free pass 4 and 7/8s through a battery... i deserve it more then some guy standing over a box waiting to click...
I think we can agree that there is 1000% chance we wont agree. I think you are comparing cars and potatoes here. 1) legend combo that makes for a very op combination and because of the sound issues back then was super silent and one of the complaints was that they could land on top of you without even a itsy bitsy sound uttered from the jump, there was so many things that was a problem with that combo before it was patched, its still a strong combo only now you have to do it all right to make it work and is still used but now people can hear them coming vs 2) something every legend whatever passive, ultimate tactical or team combination you have can use as a strategy, and just want to say if you had him under full beam that shield swap would not help him one bit, not with the weapon combo you had. If you add 5 second pickup time on armor it would be interesting to see last ring fights, I suspect people would not risk running initiator fights as all would wait for the chance to be 3rd of 4th party because recoup time of the team after fight or 3rd party would be high risk for wipe without access to the dead teams shields.

You cant expect me to edit all my answers to accommodate your huge edit long time after the original fume, If you have a beef with tap strafe do that in a different post and keep to original discussion. I acknowledge that you think its a cheat, and I expect you to acknowledge that I dont think so too - discussion went from being a healthy to not so healthy so I'm not participating any longer.
- @Zkepz and how about this little obvious thing, i want an apology for every guy who was blood doping in the Olypics... its their own blood, who cares if they double their natural amount of blood, its just double shields... so make the Olypics apologize for people do things that shouldnt be possible... i mean, you dont have two armor slots in your inventory, so might as well blood dope in the Olypics, its only fair...
