Should I quit?
Hey guys, I'm considering giving up on the game. I have never played FPS before this. I'm level 28 in the game but I really struggle to get kills, maybe 1 or 2 but most of the time I get 0. I alrea...
So I gonna be the douche and say what alt of ppl feel but won't say cause they'll get called toxic. If your a 28 with less than a 1 kd you should quit...sorry but if your not dealing dmg and getting kills your a sandbag weighing your team down. You can have have fun and keep playing if you want but there's tons of players like myself who would feel robbed of fun with a player like yourself on my team. Maybe play some other fps titles that have a solo mode to gain some fps experience then come back. This game forces squad play so you can either hang or you can't.
Like I said...just my opinion...brutal but honest. But the choice is ultimately yours. Even if you were my brother or best friend I wouldn't play with you if you couldn't contribute. The only fun I personally have in this game I gauge by kills and wins...
But again...just my opinion....
@VatsV idk of any free to play... With Warframe has a similar movement style...it's actually much faster and a free download...more single player oriented though...for multiplayer fps these are probably your closest forms of practice
Just any of the big name for titles if you didn't grow up playing fps...there's also different styles of fps out there as well...some are fast paced slaughterfests (tdm bo4 / Titan Titanfall)some are super strategic and slow played (rainbow six siege)
And if your looking to just get used to run n gun I would avoid objective game modes...search n destroy, cap, Dom (normally just camping a zone)
I think pubg now has an option to play from a fps pov if you wanted to try that...I personally recommend fast paced play if your looking to get better at for...all about Target recognition and acquisition
If you suck at FPS I would say that it's certainly a good reason to leave and come back when you've brushed up on your skills. This game does not offer a very good training environment. There are too many things happening in the main game that are secondary to the gunplay itself and the shooting range doesn't offer any goals or fight back.
You will learn at a much slower rate by grinding out poor matches back to back. To perform averagely and make the most out of this game on PC you are better off going to one of the other prominent competitive shooters to work on your core skills; aiming habits, positioning, mobility, reading your opponents intentions while hiding your own. No amount of fact checking or map knowledge will fill in these gaps for you.
CSGO would be the other F2P game that I would recommend for fine-tuning the fundamentals. Not necessarily the core 5v5 defusal matches. You have a massive pool of community deathmatch servers with people just like yourself who are focusing on improving rather than watching their k/d. And people have constructed customisable shooting ranges which can easily be found through the Steam Workshop. You can tailor the challenge of these to keep up with your current level of skill.
But also do use the wealth of videos out there to figure out HOW you should be training. The Counter-Strike community has been around much longer than CSGO itself and they have been extremely thorough in that regard.
This is all just my recommendation of course. You should be able to grasp the quirks of Apex Legends far more smoothly when you return if you decide to go this way.
