You are probably a complete Bot right now, but you say it's "simply out of my skill level", which is wrong. Anything comes with practice and why other players potential (like pro players) are likely higher than yours or mine, you can still be decent at a game.
If you seriously want to improve, you have to take it serious. For example: I bought KovaaK's FPS Trainer on steam, I set all the settings to match apex and made almost science about finding a good sensitivity for me. I also tried getting as much FPS in apex as i can.
It's more efficient to train Aim in other games than apex, if that makes sense. ou are currently bad, which means you drop from ship, you loot soome time etc, just to meet the first enemy and die, which gives you "aim practice" of maybe 30 seconds.
Kovaaks is a great game to train aim and you should give it a try. Get a sensitivity between 800dpi/1.0in apex and 800dpi/2.5 in apex. You should not go above or below.
Consistent training is important to have success, every day like 30 minutes.
As you would go in the gym, starting slow, but accurate is important. Don't try to aim practice "fast" from the start. Focus on hitting objects rather than hitting them "above your skill level".
Over time when you get more compfortable, focus on getting faster. Speed is of course important. Focus on looting fast, focus on being aware of your surroundings, you should look around every couple of seconds. Focus on your movement, don't stand still etc.
These things later though, on your road you should watch some youtube videos to get some oter tips and also: compare yourself aainst pro gamers on twitch. Try to mimic what they do, their movement and their aim.
Use them as a reference.
Good luck.
