@E9ine_ACHis approach and attitude are wrong, but he is expressing the absolute sheer misery of being forced to play public matches that comprise the best players in the world on a constant basis. If this type of player makes a smurf, they are the garbage of the earth.
So instead the only option these players have is to play in lobbies where there is zero margin of error because everyone is melting you from 200 meters— I hate to break it to you guys but battle royals do NOT play optimally under these conditions.
Let me pose a question: What’s more unjust?
A) A player who isn’t that skilled losing 90% of their matches
or
B) A player who is skilled (think diamond/master/pred) losing 90% of their matches
FORCED SBMM is making it so that plenty of high level players are performing at similar ratios to lesser skilled players. Obviously there will be outliers who drop 20 and 30 bombs, but the majority of high level players are getting destroyed in their high tier lobbies more often than they are dropping 15+ kill games. SBMM is creating equal outcomes for the sole purpose of making $$$ and its unjust.
- E9ine_AC5 years agoHero+@Axs5626Sxa5001 Is that not the exact point of sbmm? To play against people of your skill level? He says he has 20 bomb and 4k on all. Holds a world record for what ever he said above. My highest is 27 kills and 5400 damage which can be seen on google search of my name not that matters. My entire point with his skill level of 20 bombs and more yes he deserves to play with the best of the best.
If get destroyed by lower levels that is not a problem.. That is they got luckier or got the jump on you or some players just make mistakes of what they should of done and die. This can not be blamed on SBMM if they killed a pred of his statue this means they do have some skill. Preds should play with preds I know because i play against them every single day up to 15 hours a day at 3500 hours.I do not mind to who i die to. They got the better of me simple as that. Do I blame SBMM to dying to a 3 stack pred team or lesser? No because im a series 3 pred who actually did not dash. I deserve to play against them. Just as he does. - 5 years ago@E9ine_AC Right, and I’m saying the point of forced SBMM is actually wrong.
Forcing players to “try their absolute best or get melted” for EVERY match is just not sustainable. This literally only benefits low skilled players and the gaming publisher (because they earn those low skilled players money).
There should be a SBMM mode and there should be a casual mode (with random lobbies). The later would provide players with variance; sometimes you will run into better players and sometimes you will run into lesser-skill players.
If lesser skilled players want to avoid ever running into more skilled opponents, they will exclusively play the SBMM mode. The important thing here is CHOICE. - 5 years ago
@E9ine_ACWell said 🙂
@Axs5626Sxa5001 yes that poor guy can’t run over bots all day that’s actually really sad for his life... cmon how can anyone in the right mind support someone like this, he wants to grind noobs instead of having equal fights...noobs do not belong into lobbies of higher tier players simple as that.
Not to mention his attitude here while he is playing on a controller fml...
@matzesingt
I don’t support him. Which is why I said his attitude and approach are wrong.
But you would be wrong if you think the bulk of people who are anti-SBMM want to “stomp bots”.
I’m a top 50 Pathfinder on Ps4. I DEFINITELY don’t want bot lobbies. That would be boring. But I also don’t want every single match to be super sweaty. I wish I had a dollar for every time I got dropped into a lobby with Toosh (before he went PC), or itemp, or sofar— these lobbies are ridiculous man. I went on a 140+ game losing streak last week and saw no reduction in my opponents skill in lobbies. Meanwhile my friend who can’t break into Gold when he plays ranked is winning more than me and dropping more kills a game. Wait what?
It sounds crazy but FORCING skilled players into these hardcore miserable lobbies every match is way worse than if lobbies were random and people occasionally lost to a high tier team. - hayhor5 years agoHero@matzesingt I'm an average player on my best day and I would like to see a choice.
I'd almost always choose sbmm on but can totally understand why it hurts some players. - 5 years ago
- 5 years ago@hayhor And in the vein of being reasonable, I would even go so far as to offer a structure to serve as a solution:
Core Apex: This is trios. It has SBMM. Players earn exp playing this mode. It’s exactly what “Play Apex” is now.
Ranked: This is exactly what ranked is now, with some tweaks to better reward in-game performance.
Wild West: This is trios, but lobbies are populated randomly (taking into account connection when needed). There is no SBMM. Players are afforded exp PLUS additional bonuses for beIng brave and rolling the dice with this mode; so maybe players can exclusively earn crafting material here— the important thing is that a different incentive exists to play this mode.
So how would this play out? Well, people who hate running into preds could exclusively play Core Apex. People who dislike SBMM can play Wild West. If Wild West ends up being just a bunch of sweats then so be it— AT LEAST they will be earning something specifically for playing this mode. - 5 years ago@hayhor a choice to get stomped?making a second queue without sbmm would result in it beeing full with high tier players only oh and lowtier idiots that dont know what they are doing
- 5 years ago@matzesingt Then offer a different reward for playing this mode. This is FAR better than offering nothing for dropping players into lobbies that are as hard as ranked.
- hayhor5 years agoHero@Axs5626Sxa5001 I disagee with incentivizing a non sbmm mode. Dont force people to play a mode just to get stuff. Fifa does that and it breeds toxicity.
- hayhor5 years agoHero@matzesingt That is their option.
- 5 years ago@hayhor but a useless one, cuz as i said it will be full with preds and people that dont know what they get into... so rip that queeue is empty
- 5 years ago@matzesingt That is the current state of ranked anyways.
- hayhor5 years agoHero@matzesingt Whether it ends up that way it not the point. The point is to give an option.
- 5 years ago@hayhor You would be against a mode that grants crafting material? I’m not saying it’s the only way to obtain said reward. I’m saying it would— at least, be a guaranteed way to obtain that item.
And it doesn’t even have to be crafting material; it could be something else. The point is choice and reward. As it stands right now, it literally isn’t even worth it for me (and many many many others) to jump into a public game and compete against the other best players in the world for 0 exp (because most of us are already level 500). Wins literally aren’t even worth the effort. That is a SERIOUS issue man. - 5 years ago
@matzesingtUseless to you perhaps, because you aren’t asking for said mode.
If a non- SBMM mode exists and offers a unique reward for playing in it, let people choose to play it or not. You can continue to play the SBMM mode you enjoy. - 5 years ago
The devs dont want to split the poole anymore than it is so you can expect they won't add any play modes at least until cross play is added.
But yes SBMM us in shambles and I have categorical proof of it. My stats are absolutely butt * in comparison from this season to last.
Respawn is too busy worrying about social distancing to fix it.
- 5 years ago@E9ine_AC Is that not the exact point of ranked? To play against people of your skill level? :/
- hayhor5 years agoHero@Axs5626Sxa5001 I'm against any mode, other than competitive ranked having rewards over another yes. This is based on experience from other games.

I don't care if I come off as toxic. What I said has to be said. Someone needs to say it and that someone will be me. I spent 8 hours a day at a minimum often more 10 to 12 or even 14 playing this game every single day of season 5 trying to get better. That was 100 days. That was over 3 months. And I improved tremendously. I became one of the best players to ever touch this game. I worked hard and I pushed through and I persevered and I committed to it and I got what I deserved.
But now they've turned skill based matchmaking back on for you pathetic bots. Just so you can play in your safe spaces and pretend you're as good as me. Like I said I have 3000 hours logged in this game and I don't deserve to feel miserable every single time I play this game. I don't deserve to doubt myself. I don't deserve to hate myself for the decisions I make. I don't deserve to think I've lost my shine. I don't deserve to feel like I'm not good enough. I don't deserve to have my favorite game literally make me feel worse about myself every time I play it. I don't deserve to have all my hard work mean nothing in the end because I can't even solo queue because I get steamrolled by 3 stacks of people with badges just because I want to solo queue. I want to relax while playing this game. I used to play to relax. I used to play to have a little fun. To spread positivity around and troll and throw games and give people loot and let people self revive and make the game feel like it's not the sweatfest we all know it to be. I don't want to feel like I have to snort a line of Adderall every time I go back to the lobby screen to stay competitive.
You can't begin to understand why I feel the way I do because you're all bots. You're all trash. You have nothing invested in the game you don't care. So why is it that your experience is so much more important than mine? I could sit here for the rest of the night and explain in more detail why all of this is wrong but you'll never understand or care. You're just bots who want an easy and cheap win to impress your friends that don't really care. Skill based matchmaking literally ruins games. It makes them unfun. It makes them unplayable. If you ever get anywhere near as good as I do you'll begin to understand why.

@ErectRainbowwait, I think we all lost here
" I became one of the best players to ever touch this game" which means you are a predator or a very highly skilled player in this game.
nice, good for you and we hope you become even better
But then you said "now they've turned skill based matchmaking back on for you pathetic bots. Just so you can play in your safe spaces and pretend you're as good as me"
you said "Just so you can play in your safe spaces" means that SBMM is protecting the Bots (as you called a lot of community members in here )
protecting them from people like you by putting you against other players who are matching your skill level, this is where I got lost because first, you said you are the best then you are saying that you don't want to play with matched skills players and you want to play against someone with lower skill level so you can feel good about your self ....is that right?
and now you can not say that you mean that you have problems with lower level teammates because you already mentioned that you like to solo queue so I guess you will be running solo as well
and by the way am a (BOT) who been playing this game since day ONE, every single day for more than 6 hours without missing a single day ....except for one month when I was out of the country and just to let you know, no one here approving the SBMM in its current status.
let it protect the very noob players but it's not matching random teammates with similar skill to go against each other and the worst thing is it's actually matching 1 above average with two on or below against predators or very highly skilled players ( maybe )
but anyway, will you feel happy getting matched against really fresh players who are still very new to the game?
who still don't know the very basics of it, and still they didn't polish their movement they even don't know anything about the guns.
if these players encounter people like you then how they will have fun playing this game.
it's the same what you are feeling now because you are getting stomped on by someone who is higher than you then sent back to lobby just to repeat and repeat and repeat to the point that you feel weak and not having fun because you are not winning.
in short, SBMM is essential but it needs to work properly which in this case it's not. - 5 years ago
You all knew i would reply when someone like @ErectRainbow starts talking drivel saying things like ''you pathetic bots'' ''You're all trash'' and ''I became one of the best players to ever touch this game''. Let the facts and dose of reality begin! 👿
Firstly, you're nowhere near the best player in the game. Not even close. The very best players in the game play ranked and only play pubs to warm up or generally wind down or chilling out and you currently play pubs exclusively solo. Also why you probably struggle finding regular team mates on your level.
Just a quick look on your profile HappyKitten2251 (I assume yours as the first post on this forum states so) you're currently bronze 4, have 20,000 kills in season 5 but only 300 wins for that same season (really and i mean really, really bad for that amount of kills) you have less headshots than kills and btw most good players will at least break even on headshot/kill ratio irrespective of loadout but you, on average, use an easy one having half your kills by ARs approximately 25,500 but you struggle to get 1 headshot per kill with all those rounds? Ouch.
''People tell me lets switch it to ranked predator lobbies are easier than this. Predator lobbies? Easier than casual?''
No, they're not. I have played in both predator and sweaty SBMM and can tell you ranked matches are on average harder. Not always the case and more risky plays in pubs at times but the general pressure you feel from D3+ with every full squad sending it is consistently much harder. Kills are precious and they hunt you like wolves. A solo player will struggle against the best players in the game who're coordinating which is something, by your own admission, severely lack.
So before running your mouth online being toxic and full of himself saying things like ''I became one of the best players to ever touch this game'' condescending or belittling others and calling them names, maybe be a bit more humble knowing the fact you still have a lot to improve yourself with teamwork in a teamplay game, amongst many other things.

Can we keep the swinging of our collective E-peepee's to a minimum and show a little mutual respect for each other here please?
That topics degraded into petty bickering and I would like to think we're all a little more mature than that.
Everybody is entitled to their opinion whether you agree or not, by all means discuss and debate but let's keep it civil folks?

You don't come off as toxic to me. You come off as unstable and wrong.
You said everyone else needs SBMM because they need their safe space. But you fail to recognize that you are essentially asking for a safe space by demanding it be removed. Your mental health is at stake by your own admission. Probably drug dependency is also a risk; again your words not mine.
And no wonder. If youre playing 6-12 hours per day as you said you've effectively made this game your entire purpose. If its your job and your source of income that makes sense but in the same breath that doesn't mean you're being healthy about it. That doesn't mean this is good for you and you should continue. I understand how hard it is to step away but you need to weigh and measure the cost and benefit of continuing in this manner.
Seriously. Take care of yourself. Your instability is a manifestation of your lack of self care.

@apostolateofDOOM
I agree with you on your criticisms of this guy.
But I must say that I only slightly find ranked pred harder than my current pubs— the fact that they are even REMOTELY close is ridiculous though.
This guy is TOTALLY wrong for how he is treating people— but (I hate to say this) he is kinda right; practicing to get better, only to lose just as much as you did before is really discouraging. There are definitely outliers who win and perform WELL above average, but the majority of even high skill players are demonstrating performance ratios similar to lower skilled players. I posted an entire thread about SBMM seeks equal outcomes but the mods removed it.Equal outcomes in competitive activities— because it makes companies more money, is wrong.
