@IAmTheMeddler They said at a $5 price point, not starting at.
Irrespective of devaluing other skins or anything else to try justify it, that statement is misleading.
Or do you think an item that costs 4x the amount specified is within that boundary?
Edit: Removed analogy as it's not needed.
@apostolateofDOOMThe statements are meant to be misleading. They have leiway between them so they can be interpreted in different ways. They did not state that all skins would be $5, they just said skins would be $5.
You can read that as all skins will be $5 which is your own bias or just as skins will be $5 and see which skins they’re talking about.
I stole this section from meddler
“Themed Events, the Grand Soirée will have a direct purchase shop that will include a mix of legendary skins, as well as other Art Deco inspired cosmetics at a $5 price point."
I don’t read this as all skins will be $5... I dont know why you guys would honestly

Knowing EA for years, I know only very few skins will be $5, the rest will be $18.
The cheap one is cheap design as well, basically just change the pattern to have little art deco style, without overall re-design with new concept (legendary skin).
Maybe you like to have more of the cheaper ones ?
- 6 years ago@Koochi-Q gotta agree with the Kooch man on this one, if it says it how Meddler posted it, than it does not really say/state/hint that all skins would be $5.
I myself took it as, "The store will have legendary skins (as always) and Art Deco priced at $5"
Sure the Art Deco isn't too fancy but it's something, and you get a free skin for doing challenges so that solved everyone's complaint on "no more free skins" and it's a cool looking one.
I'm debating if I want the Hype Beast Crypto or the Fancy Octane- 6 years ago
To me, all Legend skins look poor.
Would not even spend 5€ on them and I once bought a Wraith skin for 18€.
It seems like a bad joke, that some skins are craftable and others are not.
But what can you say? That's EA advertising, some things will never change.
- 6 years ago@iBlockHead I just really want the Pathfinder skin, My dad has a Handlebar mustache, and now Pathfinder does. I need that skin for him... (Well, not really need, but, you know?)

@Koochi-Q That's my point. I know letter by letter (including punctuation) the statement is correct but it could have been written more clearly as it's currently ambiguous and slightly deceptive.
Which doesn't garner much trust or show they're willing to change after the way they handled previous events.

Marketing is sugarcoating stuff since forever. I don't understand how you repeatedly fall for it. Just apply WYSIWYG and vote with your wallet. Why waste time trying to read between lines or doing grammatical analysis?
- 6 years ago@apostolateofDOOM I know that that was your point. The only reference towards you was the actual first sentence or paragraph. Afterwards it was more for the people saying that Respawn lied or who were inferring that Respawn claimed all skins would be $5. Thing is... starting from second paragraph I never do an @all to clarify I’m not specifically talking to the mentioned person 😅. I understood and agree with your message completely and thats why I wrote mine to basically exemplify your post. My bad for the confusion.
@ all It’s in companies’ best interest to be as ambiguous as possible so they can flatout deny certain statements made against them. Just look at all wordings of all the previous updates, primarily the ones with skins attached.
