Some thoughts after the Genesis event
The original King's Canyon is so beautiful. The water, cascades, waterfalls. I could just walk around the map and admire the beauty. The huts and tree houses so great, the details so interesting. The general atmosphere felt great. Like every single rock or crack was well thought through.
It looks like some good designers WORKED on original KC for 2 years before releasing the game and that they had a good concept of WE.
Then suddenly things speed up after launching Apex! The good designers didn't have time to update KC and nor to work on WE because they needed to develop new map ("Olympus") asap so the company gave the tasks of updating KC and creating WE, based on the good concept made by good designers, to interns.
The internes like the style of destroying obviously. They got rid of things that were beautiful, destroyed interesting spots where you actually had many ways to play your opponents. In that places the introduced wide open spaces, put generic buildings without interesting vibes.
WE had it worse because even though had some beauty in it, it was just empty and underdeveloped. The interns again did what they do best - copy paste generic locations around the map.
