They can't fix this because most of the times it's a network issue. Some players fail to connect or time out when connecting to the match server (congestion, bad routing, etc.). Things are fine when in the main lobby because that connection is very different, way less sensitive and less of a bandwidth eater.
What they are working on and might reduce this missing squadmates issue is bandwidth optimization. But i wouldn't get my hopes up, there's not that much room for improvements as these guys are well experienced and what they made so far is already pretty close to the limit of what can be done.

@DoYaSeeMe thanks for the insights. it's sad if what you said it's true. the game has great mechanics, but all these things are just very sad. I have quite an experience in gaming including various battle royal games. So far, it's the only game that has had issues of this sort.
- 4 years ago@Revanchist_KOR It's also a matter of attacks / hacks / players leaving on purpose. I think these increase the frequency of missing teammates significantly.

@DoYaSeeMe wouldn't it be easy to evaluate the match just pre jumpship, see player missing and discontinue match?
- 4 years ago@OldTreeCreeper It's too difficult (if not impossible) to predetermine connection stability. Also, hosting a game on a lobby server or having the queues on the match server are not possible, for a lot of reasons.
