Steam recently added controller configuration for apex legends which makes it possible to make custom binds on controllers. As an example: you can now bind (w) key from keyboard to controller button (R3) which makes it possible to tap strafe on controller. Is this allowed in Pubs/ranked? Or can i get banned for doing this?
Is steam concidered as a third party software in this case?
I just heard about this yesterday, and am curious to see what you hear. I'm on PS4, doesn't affect me though.

W\e haven't heard anything yet I guess, but a heck of a lot of top content creators will be getting banned if this is decided to be improper. Personally, if I were on controller on pc I'd be a tap-strafing fool right now.
You can see sooxfar “tap strafing” after using the jump pad. He’s one of the best controller players out there.
