STOP Hot drop

I will remind you you that last standing squad wins the match, not squad which has most of kills.
If for you BR is hot drop and kill as many as you can (usually it's 0), then untick "Fill squad" and do whatever you want.
If you want to fight ASAP, then play Arenas. No need to punish your squad.

In case if you don't know how to play this mode, then watch tournaments. Pubs should be something in the middle between what is now and tournaments.
Most of players don't take pubs seriously and because of them pubs are broken. So many matches ends on first few rings and it shouldn't be like this.

From my experience (and i am playing ONLY with randoms), i can say that 90% of these hot-droppers are complete noobs who die in seconds and leave.

In rare cases i see some knocks and kills, but he is dead in first ring anyways.

Who usually wants to hot-drop? based only on my experience...

Newbies and diamond noobs with ego of pro player and skill of boosted silver. Also streamers, but this is another "breed"... they are usually PRO players and they try to entertain viewers.

So, what can be done to fix pubs? hot-drops?

Devs can try to separate hot-droppers. If not fully, then at least put them in separate squads, so players who want to play game correct way are not forced to hot-drop, or play with -1, or even -2.

Add some punishment for dying in first ring, or first minute. It can be something what increases and negative effect will be only for players who constantly hot-drop and die in first few minutes.

Any other ideas?

Yes. I go Survey or something, if they are still alive when I'm done looting up, which they hardly ever are, I'll come on over. Had an insane Pathfinder, who ended up with 19 kills (5-6 got yoinked from me though), that landed Fragment. He was the exception where I could have landed with the team. But as that is like a 1/100 "land Fragment" game I can't. The other 99/100 games are no fun and generally horrible.

@SlivPTS Rather than punishing, Respawn should give incentives for winning games to motivate players to actually play the game properly..

What you ignore is that this game is advertised as a team game.
And what you do is pay attention to how it actually plays. Which is to say it plays like a solo game, and there are two people you can't kill, who might get you killed, and if they last as long as you do, might help you win.
Apex is a SOLO game. Unless you preloaded with friends.

@KelRiever When you play with team, you all adapt to each-other. At first you are 3 solo players, but with time you start to play as a team. You are right, but it doesn't mean that nothing can be improved.
And even if you play with friends, if one of friends will not be on your level and will constantly ruin game for squad, then you will replace him pretty soon. Team play will be best when you are all on the same (or close) skill level and you all play in same style.

Good or bad experience between randoms is 100% on devs. If they mix together players with completely different play-styles, skill, then of course it will lead to negativity in game and bad experience for all players.
For example i have 2200+ hours in game and i constantly have to play with newbies who don't understand how to play and how to win. For me it's torture and i can't understand why i have this punishment.

@Cheese9ManAgreed, since many days I never get any win (compared to the last season where I get al least 1 win for a day) bc I always die with 1-3 kills even before to get top 5 wth is wrong with the players this season.

@SlivPTS 100%. I am playing the game the way it is designed, and not how it is advertised or somebody's idea of how it is supposed to be. Do you know how atrocious ranked is, if you were to play it? I have to win all my games of platinum or get 3-4+ kills against people of MY skill level to become a diamond...which basically means I have to be a Diamond player already, but hard stuck in Platinum to actually get to Diamond if, you know, I don't work for a living.
So, there is nothing wrong with solo drops, throwing games (imo), abandoning games, and playing completely alone, as long as it is fun. And especially when it is MORE fun than playing with a team!
Go figure.

@SlivPTS another option or two could be added in the lobby alongside no fill.
We could have other choices like:
Please put me with hot drop Henry!
And
Please don't put me with hot drop Henry! 😃
Selection could be based on my drop location in last 20 matches, and potential squad mates drop locations.
Drop locations could be as simple as "no drop in fragment" or any other area deemed as a hot drop Henry location.

Actually there’s an easy solution that Respawn can do to World’s Edge in a future map update.
