Strafing
How is it some players can just strafe soo much faster then others? Are they using turbo on controllers? Someone just zoomed left and right on me a wraith to be exact super fast. I would assume not a...
It's not the legend, it's the weapon equipped. Go to the range.
All Pistols and SMGs allow for faster strafe moving while ADS than any other weapon. The only other Pistol/SMG-like strafe weapon, oddly, is the Mastiff.
Every other gun: LMGs, Snipers, ARs, etc. has the slower strafe movement.

I can out strafe a player with wraith and a spitfire [with legends mentioned]
I can out strafe a playing using a havoc and Fireing it with wraith mirage [legends mentioned]
Blood hound I have to do some funnny stuff like jump around, crouch up and down etc because If I'm fighting a wraith or any of the legends mentioned they can out manoeuver me by just going side to side. or jumping back and forthe[aka mirage.]
It's the legends movement speed and character model not the weapon.
Test this your self and use gibs or Caustic and try to out strafe a wraith or any legends I mentioned. your not going to out strafe them with a Re.45 and a white, blue or purple mag or even a smg. because the character speed is not as agile as a wraith, mirage, life line etc. You might can out strafe a Bloodhound, or pathfinder but not those legends.
I havent noticed it.
my sensitivity is very low while ADSing and I still can out gun players with any weapon even if they fire first.
what Ive noticed is some guns have better lock on at distance then others but not ADS speeds for weapons.
Moving laterally while crouch sliding is not a strafe. Strafing is A/D keys. If no ADS, then you are hipfiring, at which point you have the same speed all other legends have (sans when players speed boost themselves) or if you are ADS-ing, then your strafe is limited to the weapon.
I'm not sure how you think you can "out-strafe" someone, as those limitations are hard-coded.
Being Gibby just means you have a bigger hitbox, which does play in getting hit, but does not alter your actual strafing speed. Having a smaller hitbox does the opposite; it does make you harder to hit, but again, you do not move at a faster speed than others. You are not "out strafing them" Your strafe speeds are commensurate with every other legend.
Got to the range. Pick a weapon. ADS + strafe move. Change out to a different legend and do the same strafe movement again. Same speed. No "out-strafing".
Strafing is moving side to side while firing
It doesn't matter if your ADSing or Not
it's still called a strafe.
Hipfiring is when you don't ADS and not moving side to side while you are shooting.

So isn't that what I just said are you trolling
So you went to wikipedia to correct what you said ?
And you just pointed out I am right.
😕

@NyGmen4Lif3 No strafing is moving side to side, PERIOD. Firing does not need to be involved. Wikipedia states: "In video games, strafing is the technique of moving the player's character from side to side, rather than forward and backward. In the context of first-person shooters, it refers to the movement alone"
Hip-firing has nothing to do with movement, and everything to do with ADS. Any shot when NOT ADS-ing, moving or not, is a hip fire. You're firing "from the hip" rather than using the gun's ironsights (built in) or optics (attachments)Well no there is also circle strafe and jump strafe
Strafing isn't limited to just side to side
I think you got confused what I ment by counter strafe. someone is strafing you can counter their strafe by jumping up and down and sliding into or around the person. so they stop and actually have to aim by then you took a chunk out of their health if you land most of your shot's
or
You can do a Circle strafe just make sure you catch them on the out side [far side] of the strife instead of the inside which what I do some time's if I can think of doing it.
Like a wraith,octane, mirage etc.
You can't ADS while someone is doing a strafe because you'll be toast unless you have a teammate coming in to help.
I think I know the strafe speed problem.
Basically, I think it's two things.
1. Animations. The characters have different animations when strafing that might make them look fast. This kind of ties into #2 as well.
2. Size vs distance. All the characters move at the same speed, (excepting abilities like Revenant passive and Octane stim). But, some characters have smaller hitboxes, which means a smaller thing needs to cover the same distance, which makes it look like they are going faster. Make sense?
p.s. you guys should probably knock off the argument about the definition of strafing. it's silly.
