I agree that cronus using should be banned, Neo strafing and recoil removal, As well as everything else that is considered cheating.
All I want is to be able to have basic directional strafe in game as a controller player. not just because it's better to have this mechanic in battle, But also because this is what i love about apex. the fact that i can change tragectory mid slide and maybe hit the wall jump, that's why i play it.
I also play a handful of other shooters, but apex is the one i open when i have that movement itch.
So untill the devs figure stuff out and hopefully make strafing a legitimate thing for all inputs, Saddly I also stopped playing the game, As much as I love it.
The only movement that should be allowed in the game should be able to be learned with the default controller that is used to play the game. If movement involves binding more than one action to one key, changing scripts, or owning special equipment then it is cheating and provides an unfair advantage. All players should have an equal chance to play the game.
Mixtape especially has been bad about having one or two players each game that just go around killing everyone and dodging every bullet when no players can put up any possible offense. To me that takes away from what it means to play a game. These movement may be fun to do, but if you're going to allow them then they need to be added to the default controller scheme.

It's basically the same issue if you put a MNK player in a controller lobby.

There is movement and then there is advanced movement. You can't give one input advenced movement and lock other inputs to basic movement only. It just doesn't make sense. And what about ALGS? so now players like Jen Burton will have to learn MNK in order to stay competitively viable? I just don't see that happening.
The official social media post said that only the automated movement mechanics got banned. It said that the +exec option on steam got patched (i don't know of another way to integrate strafing for controller, Maybe someone can teach me of another, More legit way), but then Monkeysniper put out a video in which he explains how the patch works. The simplified version is this: After every time the game detects movement from controller, It activates a cooldown. In that time no other movement inputs can be detected. This is a patch that does not rely or tries to change third party inputs. it just makes them useless. So I don't see a way for me to be able to strafe until next season or until the next patch comes out. And I would be deeply disappointed if controller players will forever be shackled down to basic movement only. But again, I just don't see that happening. And seriously, if someone knows of a legit way to have basic strafing for controller at this time, I would love to learn about it. Much love to everyone.- 2 years ago
It's just a stupid movement and shouldn't be in any game of this nature.
It stops making the game about skill or anything. Just about running around spamming side to side. Brainless.

I see your point. You're saying that having movement makes the game less strategic. I would beg to differ. In my opinion the game keeps being strategic even when you have the ability to strafe. It helps the player to not have to stand in one spot. Strafing helps to get from cover to cover, and it’s also a pretty good counter against campers. Neo strafing should have never been a thing. But having basic directional strafing ability is a must for apex in my opinion. I don’t see myself coming back without it.
