The game is unsaveable at this point IMO. Just pack it in and give us an update on an Unreal 5 or comparable engine. Build in AI and machine learning anti cheat and charge a small monthly subscription fee to fund live admins to police it. Rnyou couls rent or lease severs if the community wants to police it themselves. You can't keep doing what you're doing, it has to be obvious that it no longer works.No reason to reinvent the wheel when it comes to legends, maps, lore, setting, or mechanics. Just update it to an engine and server environment that can handle it and take meaningful actions to fight cheaters.

Game hasn't been ruined by cheaters but by the wrong Management decisions.May it be the battle pass/event skin drama, sweeping the AA controversy under the rug for 4 straight years, Matchmaking, suboptimal netcode, the hidden changes they did with Season 20, Lack of Content and to some extend the ALGS Hack. Oh i also forgot the constant catering to the wrong audience ... I for myself stopped spending money on the game as Hal moved to controller. I had my suspicions since Season 6/7 but that marked a point for me (combined with the garbage matchmaking) not to give any money to the game as long as there are no input based lobbies and a fair matchmaking ... and i know quite some people that did the same.

With another developer and another publisher...maybe.But Respawn and EA would make the same bad decisions again and again.

@HappyHourSumwur I've heard Activision did some sort of AI technology for COD/BO6 that of rid cheaters from day 1. He's Right though! It's hard to focus on awesome content with these ongoing problems for all parties involved in this spectrum.

My gaming knowledge isn't broad enough for a definitive answer, but I'm reminded of the seemingly unstoppable ascent of Halo from 2001 to 2004 to 2007... and then I'm sure we all know what happened. What is continuing to happen. It's a tough one.

What Wilson is really saying: "EA is currently not interested in funding the development of "Apex Legends 2" while Apex Legends 1 is still capable of bringing in large amounts of money on a development that has now recouped its investment many times over. That revenue stream would have to drop off significantly past its current point before the idea of a relaunch or sequel would be considered financially necessary."

The engine is collapsing under the weight of all the crap they've stuffed into it, the anti cheat software does nothing, smurfs are allowed if not encouraged, and 20 tick servers just don't cut it anymore.
