Teleportation... ???

Lag teleporting usually occurs when the players connection to the server is poor, and can be caused by either the servers themselves, the players poor connection due to their own ISP etc or by players data centre hopping.

I am gonna say that the servers were pretty bad for me last night (London data centre). Had a lot of teleporters, audio drop outs and lag stutters across the board, so it could simply be an issue at apex servers providers end due to congestion or whatever?

@MandatoryIDtag Not sure that was it.  Gameplay was smooth and when I was lighting her up whilst she was sliding I was doing some damage.  Usually if there is lag none of that plays out and it works against me hard.

I've seen lag and usually the game starts to get jittery or you are a second or two behind the player.

As I said, I've been playing this game since launch and I have *NEVER* seen anything like this.

@maximas1986 This is also true, the only reason this player was running was because I caught her fighting my team mate.  In previous rounds she absolutely mopped the floor with me 1-1 and didn't drop a shot.

I've had this - was shooting at a Fuse when he just disappeared. It's just very bad lag. Remember, the game does not show what you are doing - it's predicts what you are going to do a few microseconds ahead of you so it looks like the game is played in real time. If a player is disconnected for over half a second or more, where the game thinks they are and where they actually are can be substantially different. When the game 'catches up' the player is teleported to their actual position.

@EdwardDLuffy ok, if this person was suffering from terrible lag how were they able to mop the floor with us.  Which is it?  It can't be both.

@RockDokRockBecause you are experiencing their lag, not them. You and them are playing the game on different consoles/PCs, and the information is being passed to the server between each. The lag is their information being uploaded. Upload speeds are about a quarter of download speeds.

The server is constantly getting out-of-sync information from their console and it is trying desperately to correct that data before it is passed to your console. As a result, their position is being updated in a staccato nature on your console, instead of smooth as normal.

On their console, your position and gameplay is being reported accurately and they are reacting to it, hence they can shoot you without being bothered by the lag. It's their 'uploading lag' that is giving you the disadvantage.

@maximas1986  Would that not be simply down to the fact that lag compensation is in their favour though?  We all witness this often enough when we're getting shot through cover etc.

@RockDokRock  I was referring more to lag at their end than your own. 

I'm not saying this 100% he reason, it was just a suggestion, but seeing as the OP is console I think, I do doubt it's anything more neferious, if it was a exploit it would be pretty common knowledge by now.

I think Apex is designed to be a super-fast game and sometimes internet traffic just isn't up to it. I don't think you can penalise a player because of poor traffic or servers.
