I think the point being made by @TheSpectator is about game knowledge and speed of play. NOT skill.
I had my fair share of new team mates last night (but terrible lag as well). It can get tiresome game after game and just a small amount of match making based solely on just level would help. As said earlier in this thread, by level 20-30 people have a good grasp of the game.
When I was new, I was very slow to begin with. Knowing what ammo and attachments work with what gun etc. Playing with players who can sweep up loot and know what they want and how to use it can be daunting and isn't helpful in learning game mechanics for a new player.
If I was playing with newer players when I first started, then those other new players would be learning to (and playing slower), thus giving more breathing space to soak up the information and learn the mechanics without getting beasted by more experienced players.
P.S I can sometimes play a game or two, then break off for 10-15 minutes then back on. I don't always want to be dropping in and out of parties with friends as it's not fair on them. I'm sure I'm not the only one who plays like this sometimes.
T hen that would be a waste of time. It should be based on skill or ranking. Otherwise it would be totally pointless. What would happen is people would just quit the game once they reach a certain level and start getting smashed. Simply because they have reached the limit of their human potential. That is not fair.
Again, Just because this is a BR, makes no difference.
You're missing the point. As i explained near the beginning of the post, this is a step in the right direction. Its not meant to fix all issues with the matchmaking as there really wouldn't be one. What you're asking for is something in an ideal world. To be able to match people of the same skill level in a BR would be incredibly hard just because of the queue system and number of players.
This fix isn't aiming to fix every problem, its aiming to fix the massive difference in understanding and knowledge of the game between new and veteran players.
As for people reaching their human potential, that's the whole meaning of skill level. If a person isn't capable of winning a match with a system like this, then the other players were better. Its as simple as that. At least everyone would be on relatively equal playing field to get the opportunity to win based on experience. At the moment you have players with hundreds of hours game time beating or getting matched with players only having 1 hour game time.
As for being fair. How is the system currently used more fair than the one i suggested? I started playing on day 1 so it was easy to learn and transition. Talk about being fair for a guy starting to play today and having to fight against me....that's not fair.
