@DoYaSeeMeBecause everything in the past is better so if they rerelease TF2 as TF3 it is gonna be the best. Then when we all get playing TF3 we will get posts about how much better Apex was. If only there was an Apex 2. 🤷♂️
@hayhor To me, it makes no sense to have 2 games that would only cannibalize each other. I'd love a campaign mode like TF2 had (but much longer, heh), but I doubt this is the main reason for people asking for TF3.
Also, if TF2 is so good, why aren't its lobbies full in all its game modes?

@DoYaSeeMe because the rabid fanboys who herald TF2 and TF1 as extremely great games that "didn't get the popularity they deserved" don't look at it from an objective standpoint, and don't bother trying to find flaws with the game (of which there are many).
Developer Daniel Z Klein talks about the main flaw of TF2 and how quickly people pick it up and put it down. It's just innately not something that you can easily sink your teeth into or really get invested in because of how fast everything happens. It's like trying to recount an hour and 30 minute long movie, but only through watching 5 minutes, then skipping ahead 10.
From a personal experience, Daniel hit the nail on the head for me. I picked it up, played it for a week just to get the max rank Scorch paint-job, put it down and never looked back.
@pastaclownTF2 is a very fun game but the fanboys are too invested to actually see the point Daniel was trying to make. That's why I don't go to r/Titanfall anymore. I hate fanboys of any type.
I would play it a bit more(not as much as Apex tho) but playing on 200 ping isn't that fun.
- @pastaclown This is an example why it sucks that we don't get dev replies on AHQ as well. Daniel explained this well, but Reddit format buries things, I hate it with a passion.
@DoYaSeeMe honestly without the bot highlighting Developer replies I wouldn't have known that Daniel even talked about that. There's a lot that needs to be done to improve Dev communication.
- @DoYaSeeMe I think what people want is a variety of modes. Like COD has.The more people logging into apex and tf3 or whatever it is in the end helps the overall game.
- @DoYaSeeMe Same question can be asked for other games... that are years old!
TF1/2 are years old but still get lobbies filled whereas I see games off less than a year old struggling or having shut down servers.
Reason that it’s not getting full fast is due to the age. Most fps players don’t want to play the same game year after year after year for day after day.
TF2 was an amazing game due to the SP... and the robust TF1 feeling that got added on. - @DoYaSeeMe shid servers and subpar optimization. (the optimization is really good considering it’s a console port. like it could pass as a pc game but because of that it just looks like a badly optimized pc game so imo it’s subpar optimization as it’s basically a pc game)
