Hold on, would that mean that Amazon would buy out EA or Respawn from EA?
It's not the same as Notch sold out Mojang to Microsoft. I think EA have their own ambitions.
@Wolferato EA as a whole (including all their studios) has been looking for a buyer for some time now. It’s not just Respawn.
@Cheese9Man Seriously? Let's calculate. What is Amazons income vs EA's yearly? How much profit could the sellers make in the long term, compared to the annual profit of EA alone? EA is huge, that would mean anyone working for EA would have to profit from it to be worth it. Otherwise it all would go downhill. We're talking about a significant portion of Amazons wealth, after Bezos ex-wife already took a big chunk out of it. We're not talking about buying the rights to screw up the LOTR series. We're talking about EA, an infrastructure on itself.
- @Wolferato I’m not really a financial analyst so I don’t really know if this will either be good or bad for EA but mergers and acquisitions seem to be the new trend lately with these gaming companies.
The only future for buying EA I can imagine, would be by Weyland-Yutani.
