The Current State of Scripting

hello

Most players have encountered the 'superglide' movement technique by now, whether seeing it in a video or having practiced it themselves.  It's a pretty difficult, niche, user frame dependent technique following any climb that allows for a speed boost that is not otherwise possible.  Many players can perform this technique with no external modifications to the game, although not perfectly consistent.  Most people claim to have about a 50-70% consistency

However, there have been recent developments in a certain subreddit, ApexRollouts.  Multiple users have developed and collaborated on CFG scripts that incorporate many commands into a single keystroke.  The most popular is actually 3 separate CFG files that execute each other in order to make this 'superglide' technique very easy to replicate, so much so that the creator of the video claims you can be 100% consistent with it.  Many people have been able to improve their consistency vastly with the use of this script.

I am wondering if the use of these CFG files is a bannable offense

here is the script in question:

[CM - Removed]

  • @babiefrog  Hey, any form of macro'ing would result in a ban if caught.l wouldn't recommend using it.

Would you also be able to remove the script in question from your thread please?

  • @babiefrog That's just sad. Bad players trying to use script to make them feel like they have skill, this is shameful.

@EA_David plz remove this script, technically it's a breach of forum rules.

@MandatoryIDtag I requested a CM edit and it should arrive soon.

OP: Interesting post, thanks for writing this. Macro scripts (and mouse wheel binds are beginning to present a new problem in the game IMO. I suspect we are going to see a few of the things people are achieving recently patched out of the game.

I know it's a drag having to remove stuff you took the time to write, but I hope you understand we can't have that sort of detail freely available here on the forum.

@pandareno1999 No worries! I'm just hoping to have a dev come in and drop the hammer on it. I started this thread in the hopes that it would get removed

@ILostT0Loba Well, particularly the ability to exec a cfg from within a cfg. It seems pretty similar to the 'alias' command which was removed previously
  • @pandareno1999  Cheers bud!

@babiefrog  Sorry about that lol, I realise you had good intentions but by putting it on a public format you're essentially advertising it, even though that's not the intention. 😛
