Realistically, there are other weapons that can be used similar to the Wingman, it's just people don't do it because they are stuck on the genre weapons belong in. You can use a DMR similar to a Wingman, but with more damage. It also doesn't have the fall off. If you do it with the Tripletake, you're less likely to miss, but you'll have closer to the Wingman's damage.
It's still an easy weapon to dodge, if you've played the game for more than 5 minutes.
