@RaisinFlakesNot always. There are times when you have to push a squad to get them off their position before you get sandwiched by another squad. It's either you push now or suffer later fighting off 2 squads. However there are randoms where your squad is already in a good position and them wanting to give it up to push a squad where they downed an enemy. This is for rank.
In pubs though, we're gonna push you with a bubble push. Don't really care about winning in pubs anymore after 3 years and it's more enjoyable killing multiple squads rather than killing 1 squad to get the win. Those usual sniper kids usually don't know what to do when presented with a bubble not for defense but to attack your squad.
- @Cheese9Man yep, exactly. Sometimes you have to push in order to not get pinched. You also should push to get position in the next circle or to get better positioning. There's actually a lot of situations where you should push, you just have to plan it correctly. Now, if you're a solo q like me, you're screwed most of the time lol.
This is why I ignore my pug team mates and am on Mute. They'll push with a duo, no pings, nothing, just holding the forward move control. Then they die. Then I carry solo to a final 4 placement.
Often 1 will quit before graying out, which means I get loss forgiveness and they get a hefty penalty. This is ranked, of course, but the end result is it makes it even easier to give a solo carry and not feel any pressure.
If the ranked way of scoring on the way up wasn't broken six ways to Sunday, I'd play up to Diamond like 2 seasons ago, and then keep trying. As it stands, I might not last with my patience through Gold II which is where I am now. I've become disenchanted, so I play a few games a day then do something else.

Knowing when & when not to push is a tactic too many experienced players haven't mastered. But having squad awareness & recognizing an opportunity to push is another. I had 3 knocks in my 1st win with Vantage & got none of the kills on them cuz my TMs were not paying attention & didn't push those squads. Even though I was pinging them.
- @Lord_Scorpion34 You throw a bubble and move in to attack. It isn't just for defense, just like caustic isn't if the person knows how to move with barrels and ult.
