Classic. One teammate makes his own decisions about how to get best results and the other two make their's. Then the two end up dead, and I'm sorry to say it out loud but the dead guy is always in the wrong. Period. If you're dead and the other guy is alive then you did something wrong. And then you somehow think that quitting the match is the right thing to do? If you didn't even wait to see if he was going to respawn you then you compounded your mistake because you're impatient and inflexible and have zero tolerance for anyone who doesn't play the game exactly the way you think it should be played. Yes, there was a problem with your team. Respawn matched players of dissimilar play style and neither was willing to adapt to the other's way of doing things. But I'll still say, dead guy's always wrong. Always.
Look, I know you all like to shoot at stuff, but this is a SURVIVAL GAME MODE. He survived. You didn't. His strategy was getting him closer to a win. Yours wasn't. Don't know what else I can say here except that toxic behavior is not at all what you think it is. So when he reports you for quitting it's hard for me to buy into any argument you could make that he's wrong unless you waited for a respawn and he just refused to do it. If that's the case, then sure, you should report him too.
Edit: Now I've had time to think about it, I'm not even sure you'd be justified in reporting him for not respawning you. The dev has lowered the number of replicators on the maps, and often times now I don't even have a chance to get teammates' banners by crafting. If I do then there's still some serious calculus to do regarding whether or not I can respawn them safely. I prefer to carry a mobile jump tower in my survival slot, so I never have a mobile respawn. Respawn beacons on the map are often camped, more so late-game, which makes it a risky proposition. If I'm the solo survivor (and I always am) then I have to do more calculus: Are my odds of winning better if a) I go for a risky respawn or b) wait until the end and hope the other squad is short on players like me. None of this makes me toxic. It makes me one of those players who has "optimized the fun out of the game." I'm just playing the odds. I can't say for sure that's what your solo was doing, but I'd put money on it.
