Also, as your skill with a controller increases the benifit of aim assist becomes cumulative in relation to your ability, i think thats why its so difficult to set the aim assist to a level that is comparative to M&K as your controller skill increases so does the benifit of aim assist.
There was a Dev post a ways back explaining how they determined prior to cross play, to make PC M&K equal to Controller. Why was this test needed in the first place?
It was needed because without argument M&K out performed controller 100%. Hence after they ran thousands of simulations, they found that AA @ 0.6 equaled out M&K vs Controller. The word is equaled out, not advantage, or better or superior.
Mouse is pin point accurate, with more speed and can rotate left and right up and down faster than controller with much much more precision. I have turned it off and it feels like linear aiming. Its a train wreck. However it does not track for you, it doesn't move on its own, it doesn't snap to target or anything even remotely close to it.
We will never see eye to eye on this as these AA vs M&K threads are endless without ever a end in sight nor a resolution. We can only agree that we don't belong in the same lobbies.

@NickBeam27Uff, theese attempts to defend aa are actually funny.
And btw it does aim for your, there is just the condition that you need to move 😉and that is if we ignore the magnetic part of the aimassist wich might be even the stronger part.
just talking about 0.4 aimassist, wich is alrdy incredibly strong, can’t imagine how strong 0.6 truely is

When I play in controller lobbies only, I am an above average player. Been playing since beta, I have over 18000 kills and 1000 wins with one legend alone.
When I try to play with my son who plays on PC and we play duos together - I can't win any one on one battles even against low level noobs on PC. I am decimated instantly within milliseconds.
I always feel after a session with my son, like I haven't been playing shooters for 40 years.... like all the skills I have obtained in Apex alone over the last 4 years is non-existent.
So either I'm facing nothing but cheating PC players or my AA doesn't work. If it is as OP as you all suggest.
My son switched to PC because his words - "I can aim twice is good, and my kills have tripled since abandoning controller." He has shown me how ridiculously precise the mouse is and how he can move from head to head with ease with pinpoint accuracy (no scripts or cheats). My son grew up on controller and only recently switched to PC within the last year and a bit. So again, growing up on a controller like a third hand and within days using a mouse and keyboard for a short period of time and has triple his skill level.
But yes, that controller AA is super superior to all M&K's.

I have not played now in over a month. Game is uninstalled from my PC.
Just to check out the matchmaking everyone was complaining about, I signed in on the PS4 since that is what my kid plays on.
Not only was the matchmaking HORRID (a level 14 account, barely used, pit against 300-400's and paired with one single 500+ Gibby who tried REALLY hard to carry the game solo and came very close, heck of a thing to spectate), but,
I was expecting all this AA MAGIC that everyone here tells us is the easy win button! I EXPECTED TO BE PLAYING LIKE A PRED OR STREAMER! THIS DID NOT HAPPEN and my highest damage in 5 matches was 55! No knocks, just one assist!
This board would not lie to us about AA would it? People that are not as good as they think would not use AA as an excuse for them being not as good as they think they are, would they?
- hayhor3 years agoHero@NickBeam27 I recently looked into the controller vs mnk usage of the algs teams that finished the highest in each region in the qualifying for LAN. I did this because I keep hearing about how everyone is switching inputs. My findings- 74 players are on MNK. 45 are on controller. 1 I could not find an input for. So at the highest level, the level that abuses any advantage they can get, MNK is still used quite a bit more. This is pretty surprising when you consider that the current generation of gamer that would be pro age likely grew up with a controller. I'd expect at least a 50% split.
A controller does have an advantage up close. Someone did a study last year and it showed roller players won close range 1v1s more. Some of this is aim assist. Some is movement too. MNK players are moving more which makes it harder to control aim.- 3 years ago@hayhor You are correct, but the issue is that there is a difference in stats up close. Almost 50%. This is a real problem no matter how seemingly small it may be for some players who didn't experience it 1st hand. I recently made the full time switch from console to PC and I can 100% honestly say that up close controller wins hands down vs accuracy and tracking. At any other range tho it's worse, mouse is king. That's why I think the best solution would be to just split the lobbies and keep mnk and controller separate. I know that won't happen, so next best thing would be imo to nerf controller aa up close and buff it slightly at range. But in a nutshell - controller will dominate easily in the correct range, just facts, we should not dismiss that. I don't really care either way, as I have yet to see a controller player in my lobby, but I imagine it's a real problem for players who do. Also, I heard rumors about aa changes so....maybe soon, who knows?
