To clarify, it's palm facing towards the user, and originally it was brandished as an act of defiance by British longbowmen against the French, who would cut off captured troops two fingers as a punishment and to prevent them from firing a bow in future.Speaking as a brit I personal can't say I'm disrespected by it all, but I'm sure others are. Should it be removed? *shrugs* who cares?

@MandatoryIDtag What I remember is that gutter rat was a derogatory term for a specific group of asian or asians in general.

But this V thing is... weird... Gutter rat was an aimed thing. This V thing isn’t cause it’s double entendre. The peace sign (which whole world knows and acknowledges) and the british one (that only british ppl who ‘actively see it that way’).

It’s like the F-you gesture of italy, thats the ‘mmmm it’s yummy’ gesture in the rest of the world... It’s very specific

Ahh, the old two finger salute. Generally used to signify "F . .Off" in the UK. These days though, I find one finger is sufficient. Its more internationally recognised and fractionally less effort.
Can't say I noticed this in the game, or would have been offended if I had. Might have found it amusing if I had noticed though. I get that this is not the point the original poster was making though. I am sure there are other oddities around the world, maybe in one country out there the slow shaking of a closed fist is an invite to play a game of dice or something.
