- E9ine_AC4 years agoHero+@hayhor I mean my kd is much higher when i only play wraith or octane as well. Both offer the same advantage imo. Not quite the same but similar. Its all about the user behind the legend i suppose. Even with her get out of jail free cards she is more annoying like a pathfinder who just grapples above or away. But there are multiple legends with similar abilities which is why i felt she is on par.

There are a lot of ways to balance her but it would make her less fun. Because basically no lie:
Her passive is fly letting you get above heads to shoot down easy
she has area effect stun missiles
she has redeploy AND reveal meta whenever she drops
That’s really too much for one character. Think about that and compare to Path (who i dislike but this is about balance)
I would take away both reveal and stun completely. And yeah, that’s right it’s less fun. But fair.
- hayhor4 years agoHero@KelRiever If you remove the stun from the tactical the tactical becomes completely useless. Before I played valk I mained caustic. A character with zero movement ability (unless you are taxi using the ult spam cheat). I never ever died due to valks tactical. Why? Because if behind cover and one used it on me I didn't panic and run from cover. I used a shield cell. As valk the only people I kill using it are the ones that panic.
The scan thing is nice but I don't see it as OP. You are alerted if a valk is flying and if that valk drops on you they are stunned so you should kill them.
- hayhor4 years agoHero@E9ine_AC I view paths grapple as taking more skill. Paths is a tactical. Valks is a passive. The cooldown is also longer. Let's use the open air building as an example. Valk can quickly fly about to any level and keep doing it as her passive recharges pretty fast. Path you need to grapple and then wait for cooldown.
I do think valks can be shotdown much easier than grappling paths as they move slower. It's a tough balance. - 4 years ago
I agree with @E9ine_AC , i'm really not seeing the issue here. A Valk using her jet is so easy to shoot (unless a pro main is using her), her tactical is easy to avoid in almost all situations. The strong thing is her ult, it can reposition your team easily, but it's not like a game winning ability. You can't use it in the middle of a fight (it'd mean instant death) and it's pretty much useless in last 2 rounds. So it's a key factor especially when you're out of position but it's situational.
So personally i think she's balanced, STRONG, but not op.

I have to agree with @Cro_pittt and @E9ine_AC, even though I play her now that even if it sounds super op with her kit, its not that good in reality. Tactical is only good for the stun above silver rank in lower rank it seems like everyone thinks its a gibby ult or something, and above plat its insanely hard hitting with it. The ultimate is good, esp in low level ranked, in high level ranked it might be a good escape when heat hits in but you get beamed, jumped and minced fast. The passive is super convenient and good for repositioning, this is the main reason I play her, because im lazy and I like her passive. If you look at the pickrates shes fairly high because she still got season 11 numbers, this season shes lowering and loosing popularity steadily, same you got a small boost in low levels since she was given for free to eveyone logging in.
Check her avg ranked rank, its not even gold level, so the opness dont really flaunts itself in the statistics that is available on 3rd party sites. For me a well played pathfinder or octain for instance is a 100 times harder to kill and chase then a valkyrie. I cant say my kd changed with valkyrie, I seem to get avg higher damage on gibby or wraith which been my earlier mains before season 12.
