Vantage indirect nerf?

I prefer the Vantage jump, what doesn't make sense is to deploy the Bat, you hold the button and jump, if you forget to recall the Bat your jump fails, (it takes longer to reposition it)
With revenant you hold and release to jump and you can even cancel
That mechanic had to be for vantage instead of destroying Revenant
