All that grey/purple areas + all the main streets + close surroundings works as POIs separators and are virtually empty. It's too much of nothing there. Loot is POIs centered only and it's clearly visible on this screenshot.

Anyway, watched Lulu play for about an hour. As usual, the one thing Apex can do, is map design. Map looks wonderful visually. Every map has been good and beautiful. Then just ruined by how the playerbase is continuously allowed to grief on the jump, that you can't get a 2x for your gun after going through like 3-4 POI's, etc..
Didn't seem that dark though, not a true night map, I guess. Still don't understand why it has to be dark'ish though. No npc's, it looked like? Noice. And no Tridents. Also noice.
But yeah, not enough for me to come back and give it a try.

I think a lot of us are saying that from the ground perspective, without referencing your map, it isn't clear where one would want to move toward since everything looks the same.
Proper level design would help players get a solid sense of what direction to go in just by what they see from the ground perspective.
I think it is safe to say this principle in level design was not even considered.
