I hope I got the name of location right, it is the one where you can land on the wagons that float in the air, if you are lucky, then zip-line between them. I don't get why people are so attracted to it? Loot is meh, and usually it ends up in a massive fight with a death and -24 after said death. Very rare is when I survive the trainyard with randos. Any tips? :D I could just run off away from it, but a lot of the times i am very disappointing to hear: "I am down, need a medic", "I am down, but still alive". So, how do you survive this place if your jumpmaster insist on going there?

Since you're octane, why you stim yourself ? same reason why people drop in train yard/skull town/mirage voyage.Strategy for octane in these hot drop:1. Stim first and get any gun and start the rampage !2. If you fail to get a gun, run for your life !

@TrancyGoose personally I like landing ontop of those carts and covering my team from above, knowing no one can shoot at me from behind.It also has the loot vault next to it and if you're lucky, you can get a loot key out of the bot that floats around.Also the train stops there and there's other good locations near by.Overall I feel it's in a perfect spot, cave, locations, loot, transportation and more.

@iBlockHead For a regs match I would agree, but in Ranked when stakes are losing/gaining points, its a bit of a pickle!!

Skulltown was skulltown no matter where the dropship was going.If you come from the north people will go capitol and trainyard. From south same story. If you come from west tho, most will go capitol, east it’s trainyard.Trainyard is a lot smaller, narrower and more open tho, so you’ll see where everyone is (not counting the people up top or to the descended area on the left). In capitol, you can see nobody for instance and suddenly run into a team who just ran into a team that just got done killing another team... too many buildings...Nothing beats Skulltown!

Train Yard is instant crazy. There are people that enjoy that.

I've always thought of it as the Skull Town of World's Edge. Loot's decent enough, moreso when it's a hot spot. Plus if the train comes into station that's even more stuff.

It's because of how the ranked system was changed in season 3 where high placement alone isn't enough to climb meaningful amounts of rating. And players NEED to have some kills or assists to benefit from the placement multiplier.
People drop train hoping for some easy kills on players with no gun and/or armor and then dip out allowing them to just camp out the rest of the game and avoid fights until you secure a top 3 placement. Then go from 0 to 60 in 3 seconds to try and snag a win.
Especially with the vaults in the game. Every team on the map is scared of running into a squad that got kitted with a vault key when they're still rocking lvl 1 and 2 shields and weapon attachments themselves. Gold armors being too common contributes to this phenomenon.
As the match goes on, your odds of running into some insanely stacked squad increases, so scoring easy kills in the off spawn fights and then just hiding in rat spots is the safe play to climb rating somewhat reliably.
I'm not exactly convinced that mucho gold armors and loot vaults are good for the game to be honest.
