What is up with pubs

I have no desire to be more than plat, diamond players and above are just way too sweaty and im just trying to play casually. But every single one of my pubs games is literally nothing but diamond, master and pred players absolutely crushing my team off the drop. Why does the matchmaking give me silver and bronze players and expect me to kill a whole premade masters team? For awhile now i play one pubs game, get crushed by a whole masters team, quit and go play ranked because the games are easier. Why has ea decided that to have fun playing this game you have to play ranked? Ranked games are literally easier than public matches because the most i get are diamond players. does anyone else run into this problem? Maybe im just bitching but i just want to have fun again

I’m not entirely sure about that. I just played my first Arenas match since early S10.

My FIRST pub game gave me two level 200-something teammates and my opponents were 3 Preds. Like, on the very first match. We got 3-0.

I just can’t wrap my head around how this consistently happens. After the match I came directly here to revisit this thread. While I think it’s entirely possible that recent performance per season effects SBMM, the arenas SBMM is governed by different (more aggressive rules). As much as I prefer “Team A vs Team B”, Arenas is just absolutely unplayable for me unless I have my other two Masters friends— in which point we break even anyway, so what’s the point lol.

Yesterday was a huge FAIl imho. In pubs I had Masters AND Preds in my lobby even tho I am only a GOLD player like wtf is that mess? I was so frustated after 3 hours of hot drops and instant deaths that I even skydives one time solo in rank (even I pinged a good location and the JM just ignored it) because my mates were such idiots.
EDIT: And guess what? Both of them DIED first (like every damn time)......and then one players say: Thanks for the help.
Like dude, come one and use some common sense.

Regardless of how many players like the new Storm Point or how smooth the servers seem (I've been experiencing a fair bit of rubberbanding) there is definitely a shortfall of players (in most of my lobbies anyway) where I play on London servers pretty much at peak hours (7PM - 10PM GMT) & pretty much 50-52 players seems the lobby maximum for me these days.The shortage of players I'd think would throw any match-making balance out the window just to fill games.Yesterday I was one of 6 players waiting in a lobby for at least 2-3 minutes in a Trios match no more players were added & it was a solo match between 6 players.I won the match playing as Ash with 3 kills but it took nearly 10 minutes into the game before encountered my first enemy & yes it re-emphisised my thoughts that Apex could benefit from a solo mode & refresh the game away from the rigmarole that squad matches often bring with pred teams & useless,unresponsive teammates but on the other-hand it just seemed the game can be a bot of a mockery where in a 60 player match only 6 players were available.

@Redmattgame I play on your servers later than that and never have an issue with fast matchmaking or servers short on people. 🤷‍♂️

@Redmattgame When I check the steam charts it says there are ~200k people daily. This also doesn't include people on origin or on console, so there are people playing the game still
I guess on the switch as well
