What is up with the cheating?

I started playing Apex Legends during its first week, got pretty good, but took a break for a couple of years. Three weeks ago, I jumped back in, starting with Team Deathmatch and Gun Run to readjust to the fast-paced action. After such a long hiatus, I was rusty, but what shocked me was the rampant cheating. It feels like Respawn isn't doing much about it. I've noticed players using wallhacks after I get killed, I often see kill cams showing opponents tracking me through walls and buildings, landing instant one-shot kills. Even as i walk through a building and get one shot through the window or two quick shots and dead. At first, I wasn't sure if they were cheating, but after watching enough replays, it's clear when someone consistently headshots me multiple times in a row.

Recently, in a Team Deathmatch game, one player dominated with 32 out of 40 kills, sniping from a building. The next round, the same player was in my game again, racking up 29 out of 40 kills the same way. It's blatant in modes like Team Deathmatch and Trios. Cheaters don't miss a single shot. The level of hacking is mind-boggling and way worse than when I played years ago. I looked into it and found YouTube videos of people openly cheating to prove they won't get banned. They're not even hiding it.

In that same Team Deathmatch game and two others today, I noticed something odd. I'm not sure if it's AI cheating or what. There was a player on the sniper roof who only moved when someone got close. In another round, I saw the same behavior, they'd kill someone, stand still, then kill again, like they were on autopilot.

I've also seen players with foreign symbols in their names glitching around, seemingly unhittable, though I'm not sure if that's cheating or exploits. In just three weeks, I've encountered more cheating than in my first two years of playing. I love Apex's gameplay and style, but the cheaters are ruining it. The game feels almost unplayable at times, and I'm hesitant to invest more time into something with this level of unchecked hacking. EA or Respawn needs to step up and address this issue.

This is probably a waste of time but I urge Respawn and EA to take action against cheaters, as their inaction risks alienating dedicated players. Doing what's right means prioritizing fair play and restoring trust in Apex Legends if at all possible at this point.
