Yes, cheaters have been around forever. But if other companies are better at handling them, or more hands on even. If you go back somewhat in time, where people could have their own CS servers, people got banned instantly for hacking by admins and they ruined a couple of rounds at the most.
Also there is a difference between a couple of cheaters and an avalanche of them. This game is reaching a point where it should be named Cheaters Legends instead of Apex.
Is it realy an avalanche?
Let's say there are 2-3 million cheaters (no one knows the exact number). But a total of about 50 million people are playing. So that's about 4-6%. An avalanche?
I dare say most of them come from East Asia, so it depends on where you are playing.

10 mill player base no phone number verification on a free game which is totally stupid....
2mill cheaters as its so easy to cheat in this game they are virtually inviting them to play with cheats here.
- Balzano6 years agoRising Ace@RandomCZ , well it's all a matter of your own perspective isn't it? Some people have bad luck (like the asian servers) and run into cheaters 9 times out of 10. (Cheaters Legends)
While the EU servers are somewhat spared when it comes to cheaters. Right after the latest ban wave it was really good, maybe saw a cheater in 1 out of 10 games. But come this weekend and yesterday for example. During the evening i saw a cheater in maybe 4-5 out of 10 games.
So if we have 2 500 000 cheaters. And they all have at least 1 000 kills under their belt. that is 2 500 000 000 kills in total. If i make it easy for myself and divide it with the amount of players per game. It means that 41 666 666 games where ruined, if they actually killed everyone, including themself. So lets round that up to around 43 000 000 matches. I would say that it is a major impact on a game.- 6 years ago
Actually all PC games are NOT filled with cheaters:
-Mobas like HoTS/DOTA2/LOL have virtually no cheaters outside of a few people using scripts to automate certain tasks/attack combos.
-Overwatch has 'some', but they generally need to keep it more subtle. They can't just blatantly rage cheat or they'll lose their paid account after enough people report them, and then they'll need to pay money for a new acct. Also by the design of overwatch it's actually possible to overcome cheaters (Or at least make life hard for them) just by drafting a counter to their particular hero and focusing them.
-FN also has 'some', but their AC is extremely strong and makes it pretty hard to stay undetected for long lengths of time. They also manual ban blatant offenders in less than a day usually. You would never see anything like the lvl 30+ cheaters from Apex over in FN. If you wanna cheat in FN you basically gotta make a few new accounts every day and get used to playing without skins and such.
In conclusion, Apex has two main issues. A weak anticheat system and it's a free game. You can get away with one or the other, but if you have both problems you're gonna have a lot of cheating in the game.
- 6 years agoAre you guys from asia or what? I play from northern europe, and honestly I haven't seen insane amounts of cheaters lately. Every now and then there are few, but not that much that I would start this level of a rant about it?

Using your own math would mean every match had 2-3 cheaters in it.

@RandomCZ 4-6% is NOT accurate on any server right now. At this point, normal players gave up apex and cheaters are no-lifing the game without consequences, reducing any chance for growth. There's usually at least 10+ trash cheaters in each lobby- when their program wipes out ~10-15 normal players for him, goodbye potential growth.

Good players have a certain movement that's fluid and moves graceful. Some cheaters dont even know when to holster their weapon. And its that amazing headshot aim even through walls that you can just tell instantly. Ah this is a cheater.
Watch some cheat program demos on youtube. Theyre sick. You can spot all players in the map, and even loot.
I thought apex had some algo installed already for their anti cheat unfortunately it comes in banwaves. This is like peam cheat time again before the ban

ROFL No, If you say there is 1 cheater every 10 games, I'll agree. However, If you think every good player is a cheater, it's absolute not correct.

As I said, it definitely depends on the region. I'm in the EU and for the several dozens games I've played, I can say with 100% certainty that I met a cheater just a few times.
When someone teleports with a shotgun in front of me, it's clearly a cheater. When someone fires at me with Longbow 3 shots per second, it's a cheater. When someone fires a few shots from Wingman to 3 moving targets in different places in a matter of seconds and all go to the ground with a headshot, it's clearly a cheater.
But except the obvious situations, I can not say with certainty, even if it is a death under suspicious circumstances, that the person is really a cheater. It can be lucky shot, lags (and sometimes there are too many), desync, etc....... or just they was better than me.
In times when I had time to play several hours per day, even I was called a cheater because I was trained."Just because I don't know how something happened doesn't mean it's a cheat." -Me
