@DrWizardo I have friends that shred with it. I personally opt for higher DPS guns. G7 is one of my favorite guns in the game its fairly versatile but it's not a very forgiving gun. Hemlock was one of my favorite guns when I was still newer to the game and still trying to get recoil control down.
I think it's important to occasionally give guns with higher recoil a try every once in a while. You want to try and learn how to use them.
One thing I have noticed is that there are different play styles for every gun in the game. Certain guns are for more aggressive players who want to push and get up close and personal in fighting. Then you have guns in which you want to bait people into pushing you. Just depends on your play style and how you like to go about things.
The only thing that really matters is that you have fun.

In the world of assault rifles, 301 and Flatline are at the top for me. The G7 is a 'marksman' but it is plenty good and I will use it as a sort of pocket assault rifle.
A Hemlok is a solid Ok, and I hang onto one sometimes.
A Havoc is super trash and I will not use one.
