when is there free loot boxes

i got a lot already but i'm curious about loot box giveaway rules.

    @gg123xyz The main source of free loot packs would be the regular leveling process, it gives 199 packs if you get to level 500. There are also a small number of packs from things like the season story, every few days of gathering treasure packs the reward is an apex pack. 

    Also, for a one-time spend 😇 you can buy the battle pass each season. The first time it'll cost 950 coins, but if you complete it you earn 1000 coins over the course of the BP, which you can use to buy the next season's pack, and so on. The BPs contain some standard Apex packs as well as Epic/Legendary guaranteed packs. They also have crafting materials to directly craft items you're looking for.

    EA to Respawn: I know what lootboxes are you nincompoop. They make us money. I’m asking what ‘free’ means

    Respawn to EA: uhhh? Free... as in not paying for something

    EA to Respawn: ohhh you mean like payment in terms so you dont pay up front right?

    Respawn to EA: ... no... I mean no payment at all...

    EA to Respawn: ha haha ha, that’s a good one. I should tell the board of directors. They’ll have a field day over that word. *laughs while walking away saying “Free... what a funny made-up word”

    where do i look to see if i have free loot boxes? here is a screenshot of what i see on the main menu screen;

    @gg123xyz When you have any lootboxes of any sort it's going to appear right under the right hand side tab that says "See All Challenges". It'll be a big button that says "X Apex Packs" with the X being replaced with how many packs you have.
