Transferring skins over to another engine shouldn't prove to be an issue, models are usually universal.

Some work will have to be done though I extremely doubt they're going to do this as this could potentially kill off the playerbase that paid previously which would technically lose all their content for no real reason.

Great news, I could finally have a good look at the maps. Already own UE software.

Did you guys actually watch the video? He says there is no apex 2 in development.

Is upgrading to a better engine the right thing to do if they really want the game last for a very long time? Yes.

Will EA/Respawn do it though?

Josh Medina just said a few months ago when Warzone 2.0 was announced that they really not upgrading/changing engines because the “feel” of the game would dramatically change. Your tap strafe stuff would completely be reworked.

I hate every shooter I've played on the Unreal Engine. It's like running through treacle compared to Apex.

I get that the Half Life engine is creaking, but ... NOOOOOOOOO ....

they never managed to get this game running without HUGE issues..

Apex 2 will be a even bigger joke.

Where are the whispers in the video?

The streamers own opinion on a possible and theoretical Apex 2 are purely from his own fantasy and speculation. You can actually here the sentences where it is all speculation from him and no actual evidence or proof.

If we are going to speculate lets go out there and say that this is speculation and not post something and leave it out there like it is something that is being whispered about and is coming. 

Streamers will post all sorts of wild speculation to get clicks and like's. Its how they make money, right. 

Just to nail this down in regards to your whispers about the speculative nature of what you posted I will now quote said streamer from the video you posted in regards to that Apex 2 misinformation "If that ever gets put into the works" ThordanSmash said at 4:14.  

In fact in all actuality this is more of a rant about next gen 120 FPS for console or rather lack thereof and that cross progression still has not happened and why he thinks "speculation again" it will not happen or if it does what he thinks "speculation again" what needs to happen for it to happen.

Just a small sidenote on this topic. Respawn is currently using unreal engine 4 (not 5) on the upcoming release of the Jedi Fallen order sequel. The first game was really good by the way.
