Who did it better?

With the season 11 launch trailer less than 24 hours away, I wanna ask what is your favorite Apex Legends CGI trailer? I saw this reddit post a few months back comparing the 2 studios who makes apex trailers. One is The Mill who made all CGI trailers from S0 to S8, and the new guys who made the trailers starting from S9 onwards, Psyop. They're both great but now that they have showed the different character models, I much prefer the old cel-shaded look of The Mill. The character models by Psyop look like clay models.

Did you even notice that they switched studios? I actually didn't notice it before this comparison. They both look beautiful it's just that I much prefer the old art direction.

My favorite Apex CGi launch trailer by The Mill, the S3 launch trailer. A close second would be the S4 launch trailer of Revenant killing Loba's parents.

@Cheese9Man I guess I never paid attention to that but definitely the older ones. When I first really started playing Apex second half of season 4, the intro trailer played with Revenant doing his thing and I was pretty floored. The later ones have not been as good imo but I have noticed some of the newer ones seem quicker or more dynamic I guess? Like whichever one had Octane running through the Wattson fence, I felt like it had a lot of energy and was very smooth whereas the older ones are more cinematic.

@Cheese9Man I also agree that the older ones were definitely better than the current ones. Even though I started at the end of season 7 I liked the season 2 & 4 trailers so much more than the new ones.

@MyName1sNotJohn @MadameRose66 I also noticed that the older trailers would also have voice acting from the other legends. Now, it’s just the new legend who speaks as he/she kills the older legends in the trailer. LOL.

I don't know who did them but almost all the Stories from the Outlands are awesome. My favorite has been Valkyrie's, Season 9. Then I'd have to say Horizon's, and I do consider Season 11's as a sort of part of that.
These are the things that have me stick around (and the entertainment of the forum) even though I've kind of cut my participation in the game itself. I'm waiting around for the game to catch back up to the awesomeness, and the stories from the Outlands show that Respawn can do things well when they put the effort in.

@Cheese9Man I like alot of the older ones, but I do like Valk's S10 trailer. They need to hire these guys tho!

@Cheese9Manbest trailers in my opinion are :
1. season 5 ( it's a piece of art ) the music, the transitions, animation.
2. season 2, again, music and events, the best part is the final scene with Wattson flying with flyers chasing her.
3.season 3, interactions between mirage and crypto was amazing, best part was when the dropship doors opened synced with the awesome music.
after season 5 things started to go downhill.
as you said the old animation looks waaaay better than the new ones, there is no comparison honestly ( no disrespect ) am not saying that the new studio doing a bad job but am just sharing my opinion

@maximas1986 The Mill's trailers also have a short story arc in them and not just shooting at random legends. I hope Psyop can pull off a great video in today's launch trailer.

Any thoughts on the new trailer? I like the vibes and how cool Ash was. On the technical side, Psyop still uses some weird looking character models. LOL!
