I played Crypto a lot (over 1500 games, 125 won) and... i like it. I hit diamond IV with Crypto Solo(🙌) once.
Although i always use the microphone, even with randoms. I'm doing what i can to win the game, and if they don't like it.. they can always mute me. People always know, how many squads are nearby, when i'm going to use EMP and that they should keep some distance. Where is the enemy, what he's doing, what weapon he has. If there is someone behind my squad, and i have drone in the air - i'll tell them. If they are too far from the ring, and its about to close, i'll tell them. If our position is dangerous, they will know it. If we should go to the ring, instead of fighting - also.
Playing as crypto without mic doesn't make sense - at all. You won't provide enough info with text quickly enough.
Sounds very annoying or strange, maybe i should not use it against people i don't know, but some people tell me that i make good calls, gg and so on, so it can't be that bad.🤔 I generally rarely met with toxicity(hard to believe i know).
Maybe i'm n00b, but I assume, that people like to know this kind of stuff, when they play. I explain, when i ping. When i make a bad judgement, i'll admit it. I carry mobile respawn and collect banners, when something went wrong.
How to make it work?
- You check squads, often. Your drone should face the banner, so you can ping once and log out. It takes about 3 seconds.
- You can place the drone high in the air(let's say 80 meters above ground) to see enemies coming, or squads outside the drone range.
- Scanning beacons is an obvious thing.
- When squad attacks your squad, you can log into the drone, and strike EMP from above, if you placed drone in the air before. Log out from it so, that it will scan people for a bit.
- In the open it depends on your squad, how long your drone survives, they will have to keep enemies busy, so they won't have enough time to shoot it down.
- If there are many squads in the area(3 or more), you fight from a distance or rush the exposed one. I always try to explain this through the mic - if they won't listen, i did what i could.
- Hide the drone in trees, so it will be harder to notice.
Knowing how many squads are in the area makes this legend. There is a quip "Fight only, if you know, that you will win". You are 3rd partying, and enemies won't do the same to you.
You will be always one step ahead, if you use your drone correctly.🤔
Crypto seems to work well with Valkyrie. Dunno why but it is so.
