Why are people so afraid to buy their ult in Arena?

Like I would understand if it's something like Pathfinder ult or Rampart ult but why are people so damn afraid to buy their ult or even use them? Are you saving your ult for next game or something?...

@E9ine_AC I mean I can understand but when you're playing legends that have really good ult for 3 v 3's I think you should still buy them. I've had so many games where I was playing Octane and my teammate Rev won't buy his ult and it's just driving me crazy.

@Daze623 The matches are so fast that most the times the ults will not be worth buying due to the quickness. For rev if your killing the enemy team without it then that tells the rev ok it doesnt matter if i got this or not the enemy will still die. A lot of the ults dont hold much purpose. Only time i bought wraith portal was when someone pissed me off enough to kidnap them. lol

@E9ine_AC not for me. Majority of my games are an absolute sweat fest with teams going Bang + Blood or taking Gibby and/or LL to res when someone goes down and people running wingman to poke.Most of them still have some good uses tho. Rev gives you a free push/LL gives you shields/Gibby,Bang can hold an area down/BH lets him scan a lot more frequently/Octane lets you push when there's an opening/Horizon pulls people away from cover/Caustic can slow enemy team's push/Wattson recharges shield/Crypto can break people's shield or atleast damage them.IIRC people were complaining how abilities are overshadowing gunplay so I don't really see any reason why Arena would be any different. Ults are still pretty strong but the only reason people don't use them is because they don't want to "waste" resources.

  @Daze623 Well yea. Its a do i want to use my ult for a 50% chance it will be useful? Or do I spend my mats on something that will be a 100% chance useful. My bats trump an ult that may not do any good or easily be countered. Im a sweaty player very sweaty i will rush 3-9 people at once just to kill them. For me and my play tactics heals and thermites are the only way to go in arena mode.

    @E9ine_AC I guess if you're already really good at the game you probably can pull it off but I'm not so I do require help from my teammates that includes them using their ults.

  @Daze623 Yeah abilities should be free but they wanna make games "interesting", pluse some games go so fast you can't use the standard cool down times in some Legends.
  
  Some ults are just useless in Arenas. I never buy Loba, LL, or Rev's Ult. One thing that does annoy me tho is when people who play LL don't buy the gold backpack.

    @Lord_Scorpion34 This is why ults should charge on cumulative time.
