Why can’t I ping anything on map screen

I am unable to ping anything on the map screen in Apex Legends, this started happening after I remapped my ping button to SQUARE. I remapped my R1 button to reload/interact and my SQUARE button to Ping/Ping Wheel, and now I am unable to ping any location on the map screen. This happens for all legends, on any map and any game mode.
