Why do I need to uninstall reWASD from my PC to play the game?

I use reWASD for another completely different game, I use it because for some reason some input configurations are just not possible with a controller in Star Wars Squadrons, thus I configure some keyboard inputs to my controller. I understand that they want to avoid people using configs in the game, thus reWASD is banned, but why can't I play the game with reWASD completely closed? Is so stupid that the game will take me out of the game just for having installed it.

Allegedly, reWASD has been trying to contact the developers to sort things out somehow, but they are just not answering, this is completely dumb keeping in mind that reWASD developers are willing to help because they are not creating cheating software.

It's a lazy solution to a dumb problem. When people are willing to use a Xim or reWASD in order to gain Aim Assist, maybe it's over tuned.

@VersusGravity It is especially lazy because those who actually use configs to win and depend on them will find a way to make it work, on the other hand, the rest of the people who have those software installed will get punished.

The worst part is that the developers are willing to help and surely give some kind of API to check if they are actually using the program, but apparently, they are too lazy for that.
