Why do my squad mates die in seconds?!

Seriously, almost every single match my squad mates die within 5 seconds of shots being fired. Is it bad matchmaking?

@aisthebestletter I consider myself average with a KDR around 1.0 but honestly that is me more often than I can handle. I'll drop and find absolutely nothing in an entire building and then get melted by a 3 stack as soon as I see them or I'll just lose an exchange because I start firing a millisecond later than the other guy & they don't miss a single shot. HAPPENS ALL THE TIME!!!
People say Apex has a longer time to kill than other games but I honestly think that only applies to me. I'll unload entire clips into people but they'll get away whereas I die immediately before I even have a chance to react. It is infuriating!
So yes, a lot of the time it is matchmaking putting lower level players in lobbies they have no business being in. I see players with KDR's over 4.0 and I just wonder exactly how that is even possible. I also wonder why this freaking game teams me up with or against them because it is HORRIBLE matchmaking to do so. Not fun for me & not fun for my squadmate(s). Arguably it is fun for the people that kill me immediately, but I also think those people are @$$h0le$.

@HappyHourSumwur they probably have better hardware. While your system is trying to process and relay the information from and to the server, they are already shooting you to death. Or it could be your internet speed.

People with higher KD's probably play in 3 stacks most of the time and have the support of their teammates. Imagine having teammates cover your back and sides, and give you call outs.

  @swift07 My KD goes up when I play with randoms. This is due to 2 things-
  1- The premade lobbies are much harder.
  2- Capable teammates take kills.

    @hayhor I'm not sure about my experience. I usually solo q, but I have a few friends (ones I've met playing) that I play with. These few friends are either fairly new friends or they're not as good. I understand what you mean tho.

  @swift07The 3 stack, I get. I have a decent PC (Core i5 12600k, GeForce 3060) and my pings are usually around 40ms. I just don't get it when I get destroyed in less time than I can even react. The game is supposed to be a long TTK but I only see it when I'm trying to kill people.
  I'd actually spend money on coins if I had a more consistently positive or balanced experience. While the SBMM is so god awful, I just play for the 1 in 30 game where things feel right & I have some success. All the rest is just trash and this season has felt almost worse for me since I started in S8 with a 0.35 KDR. I've quit to lobby in pubs so many times now I can't even count because I die before I even know what's happening and I see my entire squad getting melted. F that noise.

    @HappyHourSumwur I have an i7 processor, 3060ti, with 32GB of DDR4 ram. Fairly new PC as well with a lot of free space on both SSD's. With my set up, I don't really get destroyed before I can react but I do lose a lot of my shield and health before I can react. My explanation for that would be: they have a better set up and faster internet speed or they could be cheating. I don't think Apex has a good anti cheat system in place and also, it doesn't detect strike packs.
