Why do we have to play Control/Arenas in these Apex events?

Being forced to play Control in Apex just to get an event badge is stupid. Control is a trash game mode that does nothing but promote camping (literally the most garbage play style in any BR game) and toxicity with t-bagging 12 year olds emoting on your box after it took 3 of them to kill you. I don’t care if I have to play 2000 matches of BR rather than Control or Arenas. I will GLADLY spend two weeks doing nothing but playing BR if it means I can get the event badge and not have to play a game mode I hate just because I’m a completionist nerd. Just let me play the game mode I want while also being able to earn the event badges. It’s not that hard.

Hey Everyone,

While we appreciate everyone's feedback and understand different players will like and dislike different aspects of everyone's game this thread seems to have gone off the rails and has no longer become productive.

Due to this, I will be locking this thread from further posting, If anyone has new feedback about Apex, or is running into issues they require further assistance with please make a new post detailing what you are seeing and we can provide any relevant information.

Just because you dislike these modes, doesn't make it so that others dislike it.
Many players can enjoy these modes, hence why they probably put in challenges as such.
Next to that, populating such gamemodes is healthy as it promotes diversity in the pool, which might be good for the player.
And nobody is forcing you to get the event badge, if you dislike these challenges then simply don't do it.
It's much better to do something you enjoy instead of trying your utter best to gain said badge.
They typically make events for certain groups, I'm quite sure completionists doesn't really fall in one of their categories.

@katXwolphe Do you really have to play the other modes or do the other modes just unlock the event faster? The dailies reset every day so the ones you can do by playing BR will be available every day. Typically doing just these you can finish an event.

@hayhor They are complaining that there is an event badge you can only earn in Control.

So what you want is basically "Give us more ways to earn all the badges"?
Like tiers, but not tied to specific actions.

@katXwolphe In my opinion CONTROL is one of the most FUN modes in the game, even if my team loses I'm having a good time.

And that's saying something considering my tactical is still broken. 😉

Yes. I’m not saying remove the mode just because I, one person, don’t like it. I just want more options than “you have to play this in order to get this.” Like “Play Control for this badge OR get 50 kills with a specific Legend in BR on Storm Point” or something.

@katXwolphe Yeah I get that and I kind of agree would be nice to be able to get all the badges despite what mode you are playing.

I've had the same issue in the past as I don't much care to play ARENAS but some Event badges in the past required me to do so.

I never said to remove the mode just because I don’t like it. I said I want other ways to earn a badge than being give only one option to do so. If you like Control, great, but I don’t and I know a lot of other people that don’t either. I’m sure there are people who only play Arenas (God knows why) who don’t like having to get 100 knocks in BR just to get an event badge. So why instead of making the badges specific to one game mode can we not have multiple ways to get the badge no matter our preferred game mode? Then everybody is happy and no one has to play a game mode they dislike while EA/Apex gets the continued benefit of them spending money on the game. Win-Win.

@katXwolphe You don’t have to play it at all. You obviously don’t know how to play it either if you think it promotes camping lol
