Why doesn't Respawn ever punish AFK players?

Define "AFKing the whole time." I ask because if you're talking about ranked modes, and I assume you are because who cares about any of the others, then a true afk player will get timed out of the match and get the 10 minute quit penalty. So are you instead talking about a player who just won't drop with you or follow you around the map or join you in your multi-squad pile ups?

Why is it fine to AFK the other modes? You're ruining your teammates' game. I'm talking about players literally not moving the entire match. Do you not know what words mean? AFK stands for "away from keyboard (a keyboard is user input device that's sometimes used for gaming)." While sometimes players play with controllers, AFK has become the predominant shorthand to refer to an inactive player.

Was that easy enough to understand, or do I need to dumb it down for you more?
