Why is it so hard to get good teammates?

No offense but this is almost the opposite of the truth. It is widely acknowledged that if you are ABOVE average, the algorithm will INTENTIONALLY give you under-average teammates.

The key here is our consideration of the term “under-average”.

If matchmaking were random, people would get average teammates ON AVERAGE; this is how math and the law of averages work.

But this isn’t what’s happening. The game absolutely is intentionally handicapping above average players by giving them new and or lower skilled teammates.

The only proven way to win more than average is to be Master/Pred and to play with similarly skilled teammates.

@InkBlaze02also to be honest unless you are able to overpower enemies = win 1v2 and 1v3 or are ready to progress say in Ranked mode very slowly = what this community calls ratting, it is better to follow-through with the bad plan than abandon it and not fullfill a good plan (teammates will be dead and they will not be able to follow you after that).
I try not to play with randoms like randoms in game - sticking with finding people in Discord servers, at least they have and use mics - but when I do I play mobile legends like Valk, Octane, Path, Ash, Loba (rarely) so that I can support my not so smart teammates as much as possible at the same time if it is 100000% clear that they are going down and there is no way I can finish the enemy team or we get 3rd and 4th party coming in, I can at least have a chance of running away / return for banners fast enough.

Thus my games with randoms usually go like:
- tell them my plan
- hear out their version
- argue if needed
- support them by saying that I will not fully commit and leave the fight as soon as things get really rough
- try to survive and get banners
- rat to minimize RP loss

@XxColdFangxX- welcome to Apex where a success (in ranked) is mostly dependant of your ability to find a set squad / people to play with on a regular basis.

Yeah I've been playing on and off since like season 5, I have improved a bit since I started, but this issue still persist. 

It doesn't matter the game mode, ranked, pubs, brs, arenas, or the ltms. This game was made around the idea of a team concept and it's literally killing the game for solo players like me, who play with randoms a majority of the time. 

Even worse when you do opt in to joining a party with people, they up the difficulty of their already unenjoyable gaming experience by throwing you into lobbies with other pre-made teams which are a majority of the time going to be Plat and up type players, so even if you do get a good squad of people you enjoy playing with, you still don't stand any sort of chance in their sweaty lobbies. 

Game needs a serious rework on their Matchmaking, which I hear is coming, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

I feel like I've told this tale too many times now, but this isn't just true for high level players. I'm a just below average player, and my solo q team mates are also almost universally way below my level. Brief example, lasts season my friend and I did a coaching project, and he spectated well over 100 solo q matches that I played, keeping a detailed spreadsheet of dozens of statistics. In these matches, my KDR was 2.2 (far above my overall KDR from playing with friends, a matter for another discussion), while my two random team mates in all of the matches combined averaged exactly .39.  I'm playing for self-improvement, not really all that concerned about winning, so even though this disparity existed, it did not ruin my experience.  If anything, it allowed me to rack up more kills than I would have were my team mates better.  But it sure would have if I were looking to actively increase my win rate.

I'm having a couple of thoughts about that scenario.

First thought: Did you have a third squadmate?

Second thought: Octane's strategy, while it failed in implementation, was not a fundamentally flawed concept. That said, you were a good guy to try and stick with him in what he was trying to do. That said, if it was a strategy you genuinely believed to be fundamentally flawed then your willingness to go there was misplaced. That said, without a third the odds were stacked against you anyway and it probably would not have mattered which plan you pursued. That said, the real question is "what is it you want from the match?" Is it experience in gun fights? Is it placement? Is it a win? The problem with a game as complex as this one is that so many players have radically different playstyles, and they're based largely on match goals, and those are based largely on personality. Which is why I will continue saying until I'm blue in the face, match me on playstyle rather than skill. It would make me much, much happier, and I suspect that a lot of other players would find the same thing.

Third thought: I know that "stick with your team" is the ultimate and only Apex mantra, but there is an entire skill set, of which most players know absolutely nothing, to soloing through the first 15 minutes of the match. Getting everything you need. Getting to the places you need to go in order to not be killed by the ring. Patiently waiting for the ring to push you and your squadmates back together. For what could be a successful match. If a win counts or a high placement counts as successful to you. If it's just experience in gun fights you want then you definitely don't need to wait out an 18 minute timer or learn any of the skills that will get you to 18 minutes in one piece. Food for thought.

this post was made like a year ago, I don't really recall all the detail of that specific match anymore, I believe we were in duos or our third dropped out as soon as the match started.
Frankly I was quite surprised to see that someone had commented on it, and the topic was still open.

Perhaps that kind of tactic could have been viable to a player using Octane, but when you are with a teammate who has a character that doesn't have those speed capabilities, I don't see how constantly rushing ahead is the appropriate option, maybe if you were playing by yourself, but not on a team.
I now honestly hate having octanes, wraiths, and now Lobas on my team now simply for how they are played.
The octanes and wraiths are usually the same in the super fast looting and moving on else where, not even bothering to ping, and next thing you know you're all by yourself.
The Loba's like to constantly ring toss away from you and very often, right into 1v3s where they get downed almost instantly.
I fail to see the logic behind this kind of game play style as it rarely doesn't lead to what happened in the past, and what still happens now.

In a well organized team who are communicating, these characters are usually considered to be what are called "entry-frag" characters.  It's their job to go first and try to provide an initial advantage for your team, even if they perhaps go down.  In this scenario, they are meant to use their abilities to get back out to avoid getting knocked when possible.

Fortunately I know the person who rents a room off me and introduced me to the game.  He has a regular user he plays with every Tuesday and Thursday.  The three of us never try hard to win every match.  But with our combined tactics we manage to place in the top 5 all the time.  Clubs are suppose to be a hook up for like minded players.  However they are nothing more than a friend's list with a tag.  I might join a club, if there was something other than a tag.  If you are without contacts, you might need to find people through other media such as Discord groups,  Reddit, etc..  

There are a few nasty people who will cuss you out, others who act like children, and some actual children...  but in the end, this is how the world works.
